Sorgott Boss Guide

Sorgott, the Crypt King, is the first Clan Boss in Invokers: Titan Legacy, and the fight is a buff war fought over a tide of rats. His Despair Feast Passive turns every buff on him into DEF and every debuff on your team into ATK, and unlike Sakiel's it cannot be switched off with Mindworm. Bring Jinx and Immunity, AOE to clear the Crypt Rats, and Manaburn and Crush Tolerance — stacking DEF does nothing here.

Sorgott Accuracy, Resistance, Tolerance Requirements

This table shows Sorgott's own stats at every stage — how much Accuracy and Resistance the boss has — and, next to them, what your own Invokers need. Hit the ACC goal and every debuff you cast lands on Sorgott; hit the RES goal and you resist everything Sorgott throws back.

The Tolerance column is the stage's own bonus or penalty. Low stages hand every Invoker a large bonus, so Tolerance barely matters there — from stage 11 it turns into a penalty, and it keeps growing towards stage 20. The closer you get, the more it pays to bring Invokers with the right Tolerances and to level their Tolerance skills.

Sorgott Overview

With a legion of rats at his beck and call, the Crypt King awakens to steal away the lives of those who would raid his treasure hoard! To defeat Sorgott, you must be a master of micromanaging buffs and debuffs – all while dealing with the continuous tide of vermin coming to eat you alive.

Jinx and Immunity are your silver bullets for vanquishing this undead ruler – Jinx to stop Sorgott receiving buffs, and Immunity to stop him blighting your Invokers with debuffs. Jinx will also help stop Sorgott’s defense building through his Despair Feast Passive. If you don’t have Invokers who can apply Jinx or Immunity, at least bring ones that can purge debuffs.

You’ll also want to stack your team’s RES as high as you can, mainly to prevent Sorgott pilfering your precious buffs with his Immortal Thief Skill. You can also look to beat the thief at his own game, and steal his buffs for yourself!

Building up your Tolerances is also imperative for surviving against the Crypt King. Almost all of his attacks deal damage as Manaburn damage, meaning they’ll bypass your DEF completely. Combine that with a lot of his damage being based off your MAX HP, stacking up DEF is going to do little to stop the Crypt King’s onslaught. Build your Manaburn Tolerance, or Sorgott will simply nuke you down.

And of course, there are the rats – Sorgott’s loyal servants. While they’re not exactly hardy, their numbers will overwhelm you, should you not play the role of exterminator efficiently enough. Bring Invokers with access to strong AOE attacks, so they can splat the rats before they can gnaw you to death.

DO

✓ Have some way to negate or steal Sorgott’s buffs – Jinx is your friend

✓ Invest in RES or bring Invokers with Immunity buffs

✓ Use AOE Skills. You need a way to kill his Crypt Rats in one fell swoop

✓ Bring Invokers and Relics with Manaburn and Crush Tolerances. Most of Sorgott’s damage comes from Manaburn, so you need the appropriate Tolerance

DON'T

✕ Ignore the rats. They will swarm all over you if left unattended

✕ Neglect debuff removal. Sorgott gets stronger the more debuffs there are on your team

✕ Rely on Mindworm. Sorgott’s Passive, Despair Feast, cannot be nullified by this debuff

✕ Try to cleanse or reduce the duration of the Swarm debuff. Once it’s on you, you have to wait until it wears off

✕ Rely on high DEF to blunt Sorgott’s attacks. Most of his damage is dealt via Tolerances and based off your MAX HP, so stacking DEF won’t save you

Sorgott Skill Breakdown

Passive – Despair Feast

Gains +5% ATK for every active debuff on enemies.

Gains +20% DEF for every active buff on Sorgott.

This Skill cannot be disabled with [Mindworm] debuffs.

  • TIP #1: Unlike Sakiel, you can’t simply cast Mindworm to stop Sorgott feasting on your despair. You’ll need to be actively managing the debuffs you’re putting out and buffs the Crypt King’s putting on himself to succeed.
  • TIP#2: Purge any debuffs you receive ASAP! Sorgott’s ATK will spike for each debuff you have on your team, so don’t let them linger.

Combo Attack #1

Attacks 1 enemy, damaging the target by 2.5% of their MAX HP, plus 2.5% of their MAX HP as Manaburn Damage.

Combo Attack #2

Attacks all enemies in the arena, damaging the targets by 5% of their MAX HP. Also damages the targets by 10% of their MAX HP as Manaburn damage. Removes 1 random buff from each target.

Grants Sorgott 1 of the following buffs, at random, for every target that takes 500 damage or more from this attack:

  • [15% Combo SPD Up], lasting 15s
  • [15% Skill SPD Up], lasting 15s
  • [55% ACC Up], lasting 15s
  • [25% Crit Rate Up], lasting 15s
  • [50% Crit DMG Up], lasting 15s

Each buff is selected randomly, but the same buff cannot be granted twice.

  • TIP #1: You’re potentially losing 5 whole buffs from your team if this attack hits, while Sorgott could get 5 in return! Be ready to reapply your buffs quick!
  • TIP #2: This attack essentially deals true damage to you, based on your MAX HP (and also depending on your Manaburn Tolerance). Stack up your Manaburn Tolerance to avoid Sorgott getting free buffs.
  • TIP #3: Use Evasion. As all of Sorgott’s Combo Attacks have some nasty effect, stacking up Evasion gives you the opportunity to avoid them entirely! If you don’t have access to Evasion, try using the Blind debuff on Sorgott to give his Combo Attacks a chance to miss.
  • TIP #4: However! If you have high enough ACC and a dedicated buff stealer, you could make the ultra galaxy-brained play of deliberately taking damage from this attack, and then stealing whatever buffs Sorgott placed on himself. High risk, high reward.

Combo Attack #3

Attacks all enemies in the arena, damaging the targets by 10% of their MAX HP. All damage is dealt as Manaburn Damage.

Heals all Crypt Rats by the total damage dealt.

Each hit casts 1 stack of Manaburn Corruption on each target. The Manaburn Corruption ticks 1 time every 10s. Each tick damages the target by 1% of their MAX HP. Each stack of Manaburn Corruption decreases the target's Mana Gen by 1%.

  • TIP #1: Deal with the rats. If you let them run rampant, you’re going to quickly have a swarm of vicious rodents gnawing away at you, as Sorgott keeps healing them.

Skill 1 – Regal Edge

Attacks 1 enemy 3 times, dealing N damage per hit.

The first hit casts a [10% DEF Down] debuff on the target and a [10% DEF Up] buff on Sorgott, each lasting 20s.

The second hit casts a [5% Weaken] debuff on the target, lasting 20s, increasing all damage taken by 10%. Also casts a [5% Harden] buff on Sorgott, lasting 20s, decreasing all damage taken by 5%.

The third hit casts a [25% Heal Reduction] debuff on the target, lasting 6s, decreasing the size of all heals received by 25%.

  • TIP #1: Place multiple Immunity debuffs on your Tank and land Jinx on Sorgott to ensure that this attack loses most of its bite. You receive no debuffs, he gets no buffs. Win win!

Skill 2 – Avarice Crush

Attacks all enemies in the arena, damaging the targets by 3% of their MAX HP. Also damages the targets by 5% of their MAX HP as Manaburn damage.

Casts a [5% ATK Down] debuff and a [5% Combo SPD Down] debuff on the targets, lasting 15s.

Each hit casts Crush Corruption on each target, lasting 3s. Targets under Crush Corruption take 100% more damage.

Each hit casts 1 stack of Manaburn Corruption on each target. The Manaburn Corruption ticks 1 time every 10s. Each tick damages the target by 1% of their MAX HP. Each stack of Manaburn Corruption decreases the target's Mana Gen by 1%.

  • TIP #1: True to this Skill’s name, it’s the Crush Corruption that’s the real threat here. If Sorgott has his rats scuttling about, getting locked in place by Crush means they’ve got 3 uninterrupted seconds to be nibbling away at your Invokers – all the while, you’re taking 100% more damage. Ouch.
  • TIP #2: If the two debuffs applied by this Skill land on all of your Invokers, Sorgott’s getting an extra 50% ATK! Either have high RES to resist the application, use Immunity to stop the debuffs being applied, or cleanse them (assuming you’ve not been Crushed).

Skill 3 – Vermincall

Selects 1 random enemy.

Casts a [Swarm] debuff on the target, lasting 20s, calling all Crypt Rats to attack the target.

Also casts a [55% Move SPD Down] debuff, a [35% Combo SPD Down] debuff, and a [50% Skill SPD Down] debuff on the target, each lasting 20s.

Then, Sorgott spawns 8 Crypt Rats. Spawns 8 more Crypt Rats after 10s.

Swarm [Debuff]

Recipients of this debuff will be targeted by Sorgott's Crypt Rats. This debuff cannot have its duration decreased or be removed by Skill effects.

  • TIP #1: Whoever receives the Swarm debuff, they have to weather the storm. You cannot transfer the debuff, reduce its duration, or otherwise remove it with Skills – you just have to wait for it to wear off.
  • TIP #2: Exterminate the rats. As soon as you see those rats starting to swarm, splat them all with a single AOE Skill. Be ruthless. They look weak, but they’ll quickly become your downfall if you let them live.
  • TIP #3: The secondary debuffs that Sorgott places will turn the target of his swarm’s ire into a sitting duck, so have some way to purge them. Even better, have Immunity on all your Invokers, so the debuffs won’t even stick!

Skill 4 – Immortal Thief

Rushes the enemy with a [Swarm] debuff, attacking the target, dealing N damage.

Steals 3 random buffs from the target, extending their durations by 10s.

  • TIP #1: You know who the target of this attack is going to be, so brace for impact!
  • TIP #2: Unless you have a high RES, you know Sorgott will be stealing 3 random buffs from whoever he charges at. Ensure he’s not stealing something that will only make the fight harder.

CRYPT RAT - Skills

Combo Attack 1

Attacks 1 enemy, dealing N damage.

  • TIP #1: This is a pretty basic attack, nothing to worry about – right? Well, imagine a horde of rats all gnawing at you, while also having to deal with Sorgott. The damage mounts up quick. Don’t let the rats overwhelm you.

Sorgott Corruptions

Sorgott has two Corruptions: one Damage Corruption (Manaburn), and one Control Corruption (Crush).

Each of Sorgott’s attacks will deal extra damage as Manaburn Damage, which is not decreased by your Invokers’ DEF Stat.

DAMAGE CORRUPTION – MANABURN

Sorgott – Damage Corruption – Manaburn

Read a complete guide about Corruptions and Tolerances for more information

Manaburn Corruption

Each stack of Manaburn damages the target by a percentage of their MAX HP every tick. Each stack also decreases the target's Mana Gen. Infinite duration.

Read a complete guide about Corruptions and Tolerances for more information

Manaburn Tolerance

Manaburn Corruption is a damage-over-time effect that damages the recipient by a percentage of their MAX HP every tick. It also decreases the target's Mana Gen by a certain percentage. Manaburn Corruption has an infinite duration and cannot be removed. Manaburn Corruption stacks additively, so each stack of Manaburn directly increases the damage per tick along with the Mana Gen reduction.

Bosses with Manaburn Corruption also deal direct Manaburn damage from their Skills, in addition to their regular damage. Direct Manaburn damage ignores the target's DEF stat, and can only be decreased by the target's Manaburn Tolerance.

Increasing an Invoker's Manaburn Tolerance will decrease all Manaburn damage by the Invoker's Tolerance percentage, along with decreasing the effects of the Mana Gen reduction.

CONTROL CORRUPTION – CRUSH

Sorgott – Control Corruption – Crush

Crush Corruption

Stuns the target, making them unable to move or use Skills. Increases all damage taken by +100%.

Crush Tolerance

Not only does Crush Corruption stun the target, taking them out of the battle for a long time, but it also causes the target to take double damage, from all sources of damage - whether that's a direct hit from a Boss, or damage from a Burn or other debuff.

Increasing an Invoker's Crush Tolerance decreases the duration of Crush Corruption and its effects by the Tolerance percentage, reducing the time you are stunned and take double damage. Increasing Crush Tolerance will significantly reduce the amount of damage an Invoker takes throughout a battle with a Boss with Crush Corruption.

Sorgott Strategy

Similar to another undead villain who commands a legion of loyal servants, succeeding against Sorgott requires careful management of his minion swarms. However, more importantly to success in this fight, is micromanaging both yours’ and Sorgott’s buffs and debuffs.

As mentioned up above, Jinx and Immunity are must haves for this fight, as being able to deny Sorgott placing buffs on himself, while also preventing debuffs on your Invokers, will be vital. Should you not have Invokers capable of placing Immunity or Jinx, crank your Resistance as high as it can go!

More so than some other Boss fights, managing your Tolerances isn’t something that can be left as an afterthought. Almost all of Sorgott’s attacks deal damage as Manaburn damage, entirely ignoring your DEF stat, as well as many of them scaling based on your MAX HP. So if you really want to lower Sorgott’s damage output, increase your Manaburn Tolerance!

In terms of dealing with the Crypt King’s loyal vermin, no need to overthink your strategy – take ‘em all out at once with a powerful AOE or a Titan Invokation! The rats aren’t strong enough that you should worry about placing debuffs on them, but you can’t ignore them as they’ll become a real nuisance if you let them. Take the path of least resistance and splat those rats!

The first element of the delicate buff/debuff ballet between you and Sorgott emerges with his Passive – Despair Feast. For every buff that’s placed on him, he gains +20% DEF and for every debuff on your Invokers, he gains +5% ATK. Unlike Sakiel where Mindworn was the easy answer to deal with his Passive, that strategy doesn’t work here – Sorgott’s a crafty one.

With Sorgott placing a ton of buffs on himself (and trying to steal yours!) through his Combo Attacks and Skills, aim to have a Jinx debuff on him at all times. At the same time, ensure you either have Immunity on your Invokers, or a dedicated Support who can cleanse debuffs quickly.

Speaking of Sorgott’s Combo Attacks, they pack a punch – dealing serious damage via Manaburn, applying buffs to himself, removing your buffs, and even healing his rat swarm based on the damage he deals. This is where a buff like Evasion comes in clutch, giving you a chance to avoid Combo Attacks entirely, and mitigating some of Sorgott’s more fiendish effects. The Blind debuff also works too! Failing that, build up your Manaburn Tolerance to take the sting out of these attacks.

Regal Edge, Sorgott’s Skill 1, has him placing buffs on himself, and then their debuff opposite on your Invokers. For example, the first hit places DEF Down on the target, and then a DEF Up buff on Sorgott. Luckily, this Skill only targets a single Invoker, so three stacks of the Immunity debuff will negate all the debuffs Sorgott can place with this Skill. Combine it with Jinx, and this Skill loses much of its punch.

If you’re really brave, you could let Sorgott place the buffs on himself and then try to steal them, but that’s a super risky play – attempt at your own risk!

On paper, Sorgott’s Skill 2, Avarice Crush, isn’t that devastating. Yes, getting hit with Crush Corruption is annoying, especially when you consider you take 100% more damage while frozen in place, but it doesn’t have any other hidden features that make it a team wipe. However, add Sorgott’s rats into the mix and the Crypt King getting potentially +50% ATK if all his debuffs land, thanks to his Passive, this Skill becomes nightmarish.

For the Invoker who was the target of Regal Edge (and if they also have Swarm on them), being stunned by Avarice Crush can be a death sentence, as you’re quickly devoured by Sorgott’s rats. As your whole team has the potential to be stunned by this Skill, ensure your Support has enough Tolerance to resist the Crush Corruption, and keep your team alive.

While Vermincall, Sorgott’s Skill 3, doesn’t do any direct damage to your Invokers, it’s the Skill that sees Sorgott summon his rat hordes to feast, as well as apply his special debuff – Swarm. Like the Skill that applies it, Swarm doesn’t do direct damage. Its sole purpose is to attract Sorgott’s rats to attack a single target. Similar to other Boss-specific debuffs like Galvos’ Rival or Hyxxis’ Encased, you cannot cleanse, transfer or otherwise rid an Invoker of Swarm – you have to wait for it to wear off.

As for the rats, their strength is in their numbers. Don’t let them get established – wipe them all out with an AOE attack as soon as they appear, so they’re no longer a threat. Luckily with Swarm, you know exactly who they’re aiming for.

The other hindrance from Vermincall is the trio of slowing debuffs Sorgott will put on his target, lowering an Invoker’s Move Spd, Skill Spd, and Combo Spd. If you don’t manage to block or purge these quickly, it’ll make an Invoker a sitting duck for Sorgott’s final attack…

With Swarm on a particular Invoker, Immortal Thief will see him charge straight towards that Invoker, stealing up to 3 random buffs and placing them on himself. When you consider that’ll give Sorgott a guaranteed +60% additional DEF if he steals three buffs, you want to either a) have the Resistance to stop the steal or b) have Jinx up on Sorgott so he cannot receive any buffs.

The one saving grace of Immortal Thief is that you know exactly who Sorgott is gunning for, and can apply the appropriate countermeasures to that Invoker to help them survive the attack.

So, in a nutshell – careful buff/debuff management is what will win the day versus Sorgott, along with quick and precise action to exterminate his rodent servants.

Block Sorgott from gaining buffs with Jinx, have stacks of Immunity or a dedicated debuff cleanser to ensure he isn’t getting additional ATK and DEF from his Despair Feast Passive, bring powerful AOE skills to dispatch his rats, and build up your Manaburn Tolerance to stop him quickly melting your health.

Follow these tips, and you’ll soon be running out of Sorgott’s crypt, laden with all manner of treasure. Good luck!

Invokers That Help Beat Sorgott

Sorgott asks for two things a roster can answer: Tolerance against Manaburn and Crush, and Invokers who bring Jinx and Immunity. Each list below is every Invoker in the game who has it.

Invokers with Manaburn and Crush

These Invokers carry both Tolerances: less Corruption damage, and less time under Sorgott's Control.

Invokers with Manaburn

Manaburn is Sorgott's Damage Corruption. Invokers with Manaburn Tolerance take less damage from every stack.

Invokers with Crush

Crush is Sorgott's Control Corruption. Invokers with Crush Tolerance get out of it faster.

Invokers with Jinx and Immunity

Beyond Tolerance, Sorgott asks for Jinx and Immunity. These are the Invokers who bring it.

Sorgott FAQ

How do you beat Sorgott in Invokers: Titan Legacy?

Keep Jinx on Sorgott so he cannot hold the buffs his own Skills grant him, keep Immunity on your team so his debuffs never land, and clear every Crypt Rat with one AOE as it spawns. Build Manaburn and Crush Tolerance and high RES; DEF is the one stat this fight ignores.

Why does stacking DEF not work against Sorgott?

Almost every attack he makes deals its damage as Manaburn, which ignores DEF entirely and is reduced only by Manaburn Tolerance, and much of it is a percentage of your MAX HP rather than a flat number. Build Manaburn Tolerance instead.

Why does Mindworm not stop Sorgott's Passive?

Despair Feast cannot be disabled by Mindworm, unlike Sakiel's Passive. The only way to hold it down is to manage the board: Jinx so Sorgott gains no buffs, and Immunity or a fast cleanser so your team carries no debuffs.

Can you remove the Swarm debuff?

No. Swarm cannot be cleansed, transferred, or have its duration cut — the Invoker carrying it has to survive the twenty seconds while every Crypt Rat attacks them. It behaves like Galvos' Rival and Hyxxis' Encased.

What does Sorgott drop?

Accessories — a new kind of gear worn alongside Relics, available nowhere else — and Rubies, which pool across the whole Clan toward a Clan Boss Chest.

Which Invokers and Titans are good against Sorgott?

Sorgott asks for Tolerance against Manaburn and Crush, and for Invokers who bring Jinx and Immunity. Tolerance is an Invoker stat — a Titan does not have one, so choose your Titan to suit the Invokers you are taking rather than the boss. Every Invoker in the game who qualifies is listed on this page: Invokers That Help Beat Sorgott
