Kyoze the Testament guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Kyoze the Testament is a Legendary Water Cambion Tank in Invokers: Titan Legacy. He draws enemy Combo Attacks toward himself, cuts their ATK and uses personal healing to stay standing. That gives your team protection through redirection and control, though he doesn't heal or shield the whole team.
Fully Awakened and before Gear, Kyoze has 454 ATK, 1,130 DEF and 11,445 HP. His ATK is among the highest of any Tank, and his DEF and HP are both high. His attacks scale from both ATK and DEF, so DEF helps his damage as well as his defence.
Skills To Prioritize
Radial Mortality places Taunt on nearby enemies for seven seconds at Level 10 and Max Level. Its ATK Down improves from 55% for eleven seconds at Level 10 to 60% for fourteen at Max Level, and the base cooldown falls from 22 to 20 seconds. The same Skill gives its targets 30% Combo SPD Up for three seconds. Those targets are the enemies it affects, so it isn't a speed buff for your allied attackers. Taunted enemies attack Kyoze with Combo Attacks, and the Combo SPD Up makes those attacks come faster for three seconds, so he needs to be able to take them. ATK Down helps by lowering how hard they hit.
Channel Apocalypse charges the furthest enemy within ten meters, tracking for up to five seconds. If Kyoze reaches the target, it attacks an area and Launches enemies for five seconds while knocking them away. Max Level lowers the base cooldown from 26 to 24 seconds. If he doesn't reach the target, the Launch doesn't happen, and the charge can pull him away from nearby support, so watch your positioning.
Barbican Blade gives Lifeboost equal to 40% of damage dealt, lasting six seconds at Level 10 or seven at Max Level. Lifeboost temporarily raises current and maximum HP, and on expiry the recipient keeps the same current-HP percentage. It isn't a permanent increase or a team heal.
His fifth Combo Attack heals Kyoze for 0.9% MAX HP at Level 10 or 1% at Max Level. That's a small personal recovery, not broad sustain.
His Ultimate, Shredding Eye, heals Kyoze for 60% of the damage it deals at Level 10 and Max Level. If the attack kills its target, it also heals 35% MAX HP at Level 10 or 45% at Max Level. The first heal depends on the damage actually dealt, and the kill heal needs a kill, so against a Boss that survives the Ultimate, only the damage heal applies. Max Level lowers the Ultimate's cost from 850 to 800 Mana and improves its damage.
If you want Kyoze to protect your team, prioritize Radial Mortality, as Max Level raises its ATK Down from 55% for eleven seconds to 60% for fourteen. If your team finishes enemies reliably, consider upgrading Shredding Eye first, as its kill heal reaches 45% MAX HP at Max Level.
Build And Team Support
Build DEF first, then HP, then RES, with Accuracy on his Chestplate and as much Accuracy after that as the build allows, so Radial Mortality's ATK Down and Channel Apocalypse's Launch land. Add some Mana Gen and Skill RECOV so he reaches his Ultimate and his Skills come back sooner.
For Relic Sets, Defense Relics raise the DEF that both protects Kyoze and powers his attacks, and Health Relics add HP. Resistance Relics help him shrug off enemy debuffs, and Accuracy Relics help his own debuffs land.
His healing is mostly for himself, so bring a healer for the rest of the team and for moments when his own recovery isn't enough.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Radial Mortality's area Taunt and ATK Down pull enemy Combo Attacks onto Kyoze, and Channel Apocalypse's Launch can interrupt a vulnerable target. A healer beside him keeps the rest of the team alive.
Against Sorgott, Kyoze's native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances match Sorgott's Corruptions, but they don't deal with his protected buffs or every damage mechanic, so bring support for those.
Be wary of Bosses that are immune to Control Debuffs, as they won't be affected by Channel Apocalypse's Launch.
In the Water Spire, Radial Mortality's AoE Taunt and ATK Down and Channel Apocalypse's Launch protect your allies through the waves. A healer still matters for the rest of the team.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Kyoze's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
