Kanraku Story

Duchess Kanraku is the scion of a terrifying Dynasty: portal masters, who can tear open the Void itself and travel to realms unknown. Kanraku has taken this power to new heights, and has begun to trap monstrous horrors in her void-prison… which she then unleashes on her hapless foes.

Duchess Kanraku guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Duchess Kanraku is a Legendary Dark Ranged Attacker from the Cambion Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. She places DEF Down on a focused target often, Launches groups and spreads two Burns, and her Ultimate adds a Stun, a Push and Weaken against Bosses. Abyssal Hands also grants Ultimate Mana for each critical hit, so her Ultimate comes around sooner.

Fully Awakened and before Gear, Kanraku has 1,290 ATK, 816 DEF and 7,330 HP. Her ATK is among the highest of any Ranged Attacker and her HP is high. She has no heal, Shield or revive, so she needs allies to look after her.

Skills To Prioritize

Unchained Claw places 50% DEF Down on one enemy for eight seconds at Level 10, or nine at Max Level. Its base cooldown is ten seconds. That's a big DEF reduction you can place often, but a resisted cast, timing and Skill Recovery all affect how often it's up. It helps damage that DEF reduces, not every damage source by a flat 50%. Kanraku needs Accuracy to land it.

Abyssal Hands attacks twice and grants Ultimate Mana for each critical hit: 105 at Level 10 or 110 at Max Level. Two critical hits give two lots of Ultimate Mana, while a hit that isn't critical gives none. Max Level also lowers the base cooldown from 20 to 18 seconds. It doesn't make the Ultimate free: Oblivion Crush still costs 1,050 Ultimate Mana at Level 10 or 1,000 at Max Level.

Rift Collapse attacks an area three times. The first hit Launches targets for three seconds at Level 10 and Max Level, and the second hit places two Burns. Each Burn deals 2% MAX HP per tick, with 1% splash to nearby allies of the affected target. At Level 10 it lasts eight seconds with a 400% ATK cap, and Max Level extends it to ten seconds and raises the cap to 500%. The cap uses her ATK at the moment the Burn is placed, and the base tick interval is two seconds, which Skill SPD affects.

Oblivion Crush's first attack places an eight-second Stun, and it also places 20% Weaken when the target is a Boss or Mini-Boss, lasting 22 seconds at Level 10 or 25 at Max Level. Against other Invokers in Arena the Weaken doesn't apply. The second attack Pushes the target ten meters away and deals 50% more damage for each debuff on the target, up to 250%, which five debuffs reach. That bonus belongs to the second attack only. Stun stops movement and Skill use, but cooldowns keep recovering.

If you want Kanraku to focus on Burn damage, prioritize Rift Collapse, as Max Level extends each Burn to ten seconds and raises its cap to 500% of ATK. If you want her Ultimate to come around more often, consider upgrading Abyssal Hands first, as it grants more Ultimate Mana per critical hit and Max Level lowers its cooldown to 18 seconds. If you mainly want DEF Down for your team, Unchained Claw already places 50% at Level 10, so Max Level only adds a second of duration.

Build And Team Support

Put Accuracy on Kanraku's Chestplate and Flask, and stack as much as the build allows: DEF Down, Launch, both Burns and the Stun all need it to land. After that, build ATK to the maximum, as the cap on her Burns uses her ATK. While Abyssal Hands does give Kanraku extra Ultimate Mana on critical hits, don't build Crit Rate or Crit DMG, as they do nothing for the Burn damage that makes up most of her kit. Keep enough HP and DEF to survive, because she can't heal herself.

For Relic Sets, Accuracy Relics help Unchained Claw, Rift Collapse and Oblivion Crush land their debuffs. Attack Relics raise the ATK that her hits and her Burn cap scale from. For more damage, equip Attack; to land her debuffs more consistently, equip Accuracy. She has native Blight and Daze Tolerances.

She has no heal, Shield or revive, so bring a healer or Shield support and a Tank beside her.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Kanraku's Launch, two Burns and Stun add area damage and control while allies protect her. Being a Ranged Attacker doesn't make her immune to area attacks or pressure on the back line, so keep your team's protection up.

Against Ulgorim, Kanraku's native Blight and Daze Tolerances help, but she doesn't place Heal Reduction, so bring another Invoker who does.

Fire Omnissi, who is immune to Burn, and Sakiel, who penalizes Burn ticks, are poor matches for Rift Collapse. Against Hyxxis, every Burn Kanraku places shortens the cooldown of Ensacment by one second, because Hyxxis's Sludger passive reacts whenever Burn or Bleed is placed on her. Repeated Burns can bring the next sac forward while a surviving Tank is still protected from retargeting by Sludge, which exposes another ally. It's the placing of a Burn that triggers it, not each tick, so work it into your Tank rotation rather than treating Burn as free extra damage.

In the Dark Spire, Rift Collapse's Launch and Burns clear waves and Oblivion Crush's Stun controls a priority enemy, with your team supplying healing and Shields.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Kanraku's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
