Gohshu the Faceless guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Gohshu the Faceless is an Epic Water Tank from the Cambion Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. His kit rewards a prepared battlefield: buffs on Gohshu increase his Shield, debuffs on the enemy increase his healing, and those same debuffs boost his Ultimate's damage. He's a durable single-target fighter, and the more buffs and debuffs your team keeps running, the better he gets.
His Shield and his healing both scale from his own MAX HP, so HP investment pays off twice. Fully Awakened and before Gear, Gohshu has 361 ATK, 823 DEF and 11,016 HP. His ATK and HP are about average for a Tank, and his DEF is low for a Tank.
He has no Taunt, team heal or group Shield. He can keep himself alive without stopping enemies from attacking a fragile teammate, so if enemy targeting is the real problem, bring a controller or a protection Support alongside him.
Skills To Prioritize
Protector Stance creates a Shield from Gohshu's own MAX HP, with an additional percentage for each buff already on him. At Level 10 the Shield is 15% plus 5% per buff, and Max Level raises the per-buff part to 6%. That's a clear reason to pair him with useful buffs rather than treating the strongest Shield as a given.
Drain Dishonor has two healing parts: a base heal from his own MAX HP and another amount for each debuff on the enemy. At Level 10 those are 13% and 4%, and Max Level raises the base to 15%. A freshly cleansed or barely debuffed target gives him less healing. Its direct damage scales from both ATK and DEF.
Both tools are personal. They can reduce the healing Gohshu needs from a teammate, but they don't restore the rest of your team. Be wary of enemy Invokers who steal or remove his buffs, suppress healing or cleanse debuffs, as they can cut his Shield and heal without changing the numbers printed on his Skills.
Shatter Stance places a modest DEF Down on a ten-second base cooldown. At Max Level it reaches 15% for six seconds, which is useful extra debuffing but well short of a specialist's 50-60% reduction. It needs Accuracy to land, even when the rest of the build is focused on survival.
Enforce Honor, his Ultimate, gains damage for each debuff on the enemy, up to a cap. At Level 10 the gain is 8% per debuff with a 70% cap, so nine debuffs reach that limit. Max Level keeps 8% per debuff and raises the cap to 80%, which takes ten. It costs 850 Mana at Level 10, and Max Level lowers that to 800. With only one or two debuffs on the target, you won't see the advertised maximum.
If you want Gohshu to look after himself, prioritize Protector Stance and Drain Dishonor, as both formulas are built on his MAX HP and grow with your team's buffs and debuffs. If your team already keeps several debuffs on the enemy, consider upgrading Enforce Honor first, as Max Level raises its damage cap to 80% and lowers its cost to 800 Mana. Upgrade Shatter Stance only when you want his small DEF Down to help start the debuff count, and keep enough Accuracy to land it.
Build And Team Support
Build DEF first, then HP, then RES, up to about 300 for Bosses, with more for Arena. Shatter Stance places DEF Down, so put Accuracy on his Chestplate first and stack more after that as the build allows. Add Skill RECOV to bring Protector Stance and Drain Dishonor back sooner. Drain Dishonor's direct damage scales from both ATK and DEF, so DEF raises his damage as well as his survival. Gohshu also has native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances.
For Relic Sets, Health Relics raise the MAX HP his Shield and healing scale from, and Defense Relics cut the damage he takes while his attacks scale from DEF. Accuracy Relics help Shatter Stance land, and Fury Relics add Skill RECOV so his Skills come back sooner.
Pair him with Invokers who keep buffs on him and debuffs on the enemy, since that's what drives his Shield, heal and Ultimate. He has no Taunt, team heal or group Shield, so add a controller or protection Support when your fragile allies are the problem.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, his personal sustain works best in a lineup that keeps him buffed and the target debuffed. He doesn't open with Taunt or broad control, and his single-target attacks don't suppress a whole enemy team, so your teammates still need to turn his survival time into a win.
Against Sorgott, Gohshu's native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances are a good starting point against Sorgott's Crush and Manaburn damage. He doesn't place Jinx, remove Sorgott's buffs, cleanse the team or clear rats with area damage, so bring other Invokers for those.
Against Althar, Gohshu doesn't place Block Revive, so bring another Invoker who does.
Against Galvos, who rewards debuffs on himself and buffs on the attacked ally, Gohshu's Shield and heal already scale from buffs and debuffs, which suits that fight.
Against Omnissi, be wary of Astral Omnissi, who can steal the buffs Protector Stance scales from, and of Light Omnissi, who penalizes his healing through MAX HP reduction. Against Dark Omnissi, bring another Invoker who places Combo SPD Down, as Gohshu doesn't.
In the Water Spire, he can fill a durable single-target role when your team lacks one. Area damage, healing and revival are separate needs, so bring other Invokers for them. Build him because your team benefits from a frontline fighter who stays up, not because Tank on its own means he covers every defensive job.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Gohshu's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
