Akrila the Oathpainter guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Akrila the Oathpainter is a Legendary Water Support from the Cambion Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. She takes the pressure off your team with Blind and Skill Recovery Down, manages buff and debuff durations, then restores everyone with an Ultimate that cleanses, Shields and heals. She does several support jobs in one Invoker, so the rest of your lineup can focus on damage and frontline control.
Her Shield and her heal scale from different things. Painted Voidlings removes random debuffs from nearby allies, Shields them and heals them. Its Shield is 15% of each ally's MAX HP, while the heal scales from Akrila's own MAX HP. Building her HP improves her healing and her survival, but it doesn't make another ally's Shield bigger.
Fully Awakened and before Gear, Akrila has 844 ATK and 11,462 HP, plus 823 DEF. Her ATK is about average for a Support, and her HP is among the highest.
Skill Recovery Down is scarce: she is one of the few Invokers in the game who place it, so she's a good candidate if you're building a team that needs it.
She isn't a Taunt Tank. Her area effects work around her, so she needs to stay alive, but keeping her alive doesn't make enemies attack her or make her hostile effects land.
Skills To Prioritize
Painted Voidlings, her Ultimate, keeps the Shield at 15% through the upgrades while the duration improves. The heal rises from 10% of Akrila's MAX HP at Level 1 to 18% at Level 10 and 20% at Max Level. Cleansing expands from two debuffs to four by Level 10. Level 10 gives four removals, a thirteen-second Shield and the 18% heal; Max Level raises the heal to 20% and lowers the Mana cost to 800.
Purifying Brush shortens selected debuffs on allies instead of removing them whatever their duration, so a debuff with more time left than the reduction can survive the cast. It also places area Skill Recovery Down on enemies. It reaches three shortened debuffs by Level 5 and four at Max Level, with a seven-second reduction at the top levels. That expands how much it covers, but it never becomes an unrestricted cleanse.
Blinding Chroma places Blind in an area. Blind affects Combo Attacks, so it doesn't stop active Skills or Ultimates, which matters against enemies whose danger comes from their active rotation.
Artful Purge shortens a random enemy buff, and her fifth Combo extends a random enemy debuff. At Max Level each can affect up to two effects. They're handy for protecting an ally's debuff or cutting into an enemy's protection, but the choice is random and both need Accuracy, so they aren't a targeted buff strip or a guaranteed extension of the one effect you want.
If you want Akrila to keep your team healthy and free of debuffs, upgrade Painted Voidlings first, as it gets her heal to 18% at Level 10 and four removals. If you want her to deal with debuffs that keep hanging around, consider upgrading Purifying Brush first, as it shortens three debuffs at Level 5 and four at Max Level.
Build And Team Support
Invest in HP first, because her heal scales from her own MAX HP and a Support who stays alive keeps casting. Then put Accuracy on her Chestplate and stack as much Accuracy after that as the build allows, since Blind, Skill Recovery Down, Artful Purge and her Combo extension all need it to land. Add RES up to about 300 for Bosses, and more for Arena. A heavily defensive build that gives up Accuracy loses those hostile effects, so only drop it if your team doesn't need them.
Put Mana Gen on her Talisman so Painted Voidlings comes round sooner, especially for Arena. Skill RECOV helps her active Skills come back faster.
Health Relics give her the HP her heal scales from, and Accuracy Relics help her debuffs land. Mana Relics bring her Ultimate round sooner, Fury Relics raise Skill RECOV, and Paragon makes her heals and Shields bigger.
Her native Manaburn Tolerance covers only part of what Sorgott demands, and her native Daze Tolerance suits Galvos.
She has no revive, no Taunt and no protection from Control Debuffs, so pair her with Invokers who cover those jobs. A frontline protector and a damage dealer who can use the extra time she gives them are natural partners.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Akrila reduces Combo pressure and helps the team recover from ordinary debuffs and damage. She still needs to survive long enough to cast Painted Voidlings, and she can't bring back a fallen ally.
Against Sorgott, Painted Voidlings is valuable for cleansing removable debuffs, but it can't remove Swarm and Purifying Brush can't shorten it. Artful Purge can shorten one of his buffs, but it's random, so bring Jinx or another way to deal with his buffs. Against Relic Bosses, her healing and Shields help your team survive, but she doesn't generate the Titan Mana Pentiax favours, place Block Revive against Althar's minions, or deal the concentrated damage that breaks Hyxxis's eggs, so bring other Invokers for those jobs.
Against Galvos, her Shield adds a buff, which helps with his buff-sensitive mechanics, and her fifth Combo extends a debuff that's already on him.
Against Omnissi, be wary of Light Omnissi, who punishes healing: Painted Voidlings' Shield is still useful there, but the heal that comes with it triggers the penalty. Astral Omnissi can steal the Shield. Wind and Dark Omnissi need specific speed debuffs, which Akrila doesn't place, so bring another Invoker who does.
In the Water Spire, her area Blind, Skill Recovery Down, Shielding and healing have several targets to work on, which makes her a practical Invoker to build for progression. She adds some area damage, but her main job is keeping your damage dealers working.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Akrila's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
