Top 10 Rare Invokers
Most Rare Invokers can be taken to Level 50 and still help you progress. The ten on this list are worth more than that: they stay relevant once your account has Epics and Legendaries, so they are worth taking to Level 60.
The list runs from number one down, then three honorable mentions. Each section explains what the Invoker does, where it helps, and what to watch for, with a link to the full page for Skill levels and builds.
To see where each Invoker stands by mode and by Boss, open the Ultimate Tier List. Skills can change with updates, so check an Invoker's page before you spend on them.
1. Bruk the Hook
Bruk the Hook is a Rare Light Melee Attacker from the Freeborn, and the Rare that gets you through Althar. His Ultimate, Hook, Line, and Goner, hits a group of enemies and places Hex. An enemy that dies while Hexed cannot be revived, which is exactly what Althar's fight asks for.
Catch of the Day places DEF Down on one target, and Fillet-O-Foes gives Bruk Mana for his Ultimate when it lands critical hits, so Crit Rate helps him reach Hex more often. Keep in mind that the enemy has to die while Hex is still on it: Hex alone does not stop a revive, so time your damage around it.
Build Bruk if Althar is the wall your account is stuck on and you have no other way to block revives.
2. Skrimp
Skrimp is a Rare Light Melee Attacker from the Lightseekers, and a strong clearer for the Campaign and the Spires. Skrimp Tornado! places ATK Down and DEF Down on a group at once, so your team deals more damage to the wave and takes less from it.
Skrimp Smash! places Stun, with a chance to place Shock instead, and Flying Skrimp! charges a target and Launches it. Be wary of Bosses that are immune to Control Debuffs: they will not be affected by his Stun or Launch, so against them he is there for his debuffs.
Build Skrimp if your team needs one slot that softens whole waves and interrupts them at the same time.
3. Selisa
Selisa is a Rare Light Ranged Attacker from the Eldrin, and one of the best picks for your Starter Invoker. Her damage output helps the whole team: Biting Shadow places DEF Down on one target, Phantom Claws places Move SPD Down on a group, and Eternal Pack deals AoE damage and places Stun.
Eternal Pack also deals bonus damage to enemies that are immune to Control Debuffs, so she keeps hitting hard when the Stun will not land. The Best Starter Invoker guide compares her with the other four starters in detail.
Build Selisa if you want your damage dealer to make the rest of the team hit harder, from a safe distance.
4. Solnor
Solnor is a Rare Earth Support from the Eldrin, and a healer who can carry a team through PvE progression and the Spires. Growth and Decay creates a zone that heals your allies and damages enemies at the same time, and Life Bloom grants Regeneration, which grows a lot as you upgrade it.
Seed Magic also extends debuffs on its target. Keep in mind that the healing zone is centered on an enemy, not on your team: allies standing outside it are not healed, so positioning matters.
Build Solnor if you need a Rare healer to keep your team topped up through long PvE fights.
5. Humi
Humi is a Rare Wind Ranged Attacker from the Beastbloods, and an easy Invoker to fit into a team. Preybreaker places DEF Down and Maimbarb places ATK Down, so your team deals more damage and takes less while she attacks.
Her damage Skill, Deathquiver, gains damage for every debuff on its target. The damage bonus is considerable, but it takes ten debuffs on one enemy to reach its cap, which needs the rest of your team placing debuffs too.
Build Humi if you want a damage dealer who also brings two useful debuffs, and your team already places a few of its own.
6. Sabado
Sabado is a Rare Dark Ranged Attacker from the Freeborn, and a straightforward single-target damage dealer who keeps his distance. Double Tap generates Titan Mana, more for each debuff on the target, and Booster Shell extends one of Sabado's buffs, or two when it lands a critical hit.
Bullseye! grants him Crit Rate Up, but only when the target has no buffs. Pair him with Invokers who strip or block enemy buffs, and with Supports who keep his damage going, and he becomes a strong damage slot.
Build Sabado if you want ranged single-target damage that also feeds your Titans.
7. Kegbeast Tonhaka
Kegbeast Tonhaka is a Rare Light Support from the Freeborn, and can be considered a 'budget' version of Sebastin the Dreamweaver that any account can get. His Ultimate Launches nearby enemies and gives allies Crit Rate Up and Crit DMG Up, which lowers how much Crit Rate your attackers need from their gear.
Cheerful Round gives the team Combo SPD Up, and Keg Roller places ACC Down, so enemies land fewer of their own debuffs on you.
Build Tonhaka if your damage dealers rely on critical hits and you have no Legendary buffer yet.
8. Darkseer Lumisa
Darkseer Lumisa is a Rare Dark Support from the Lightseekers, and an answer to a question many players hit at the Dark Spire: who keeps my team alive here? Vision of Rebirth revives a fallen ally and gives nearby allies ATK Up, and her regular heal reaches two allies once Vision of Vitality is upgraded to Level 6.
Vision of Weakness extends debuffs on a target, with an extra extension for Bleed, so she pairs well with a Bleed Invoker. Be wary of Bosses that punish Bleed: extending it there works against you.
Build Lumisa if you need a revive and you do not have a Legendary or Epic who can bring one.
9. Arissa
Arissa is a Rare Water Support from the Lightseekers, and her Manaburn Tolerance is the reason to look at her. Hyxxis, who places Manaburn, is one of the hardest Bosses for many accounts, and Arissa handles that fight well for a Rare.
Her healing does the rest: Hymn of Vitality heals a group in several pulses, Well of Faith heals an ally from the damage it deals, and Fount of Strength gives nearby allies DEF Up. Where Droviss the Warbeater is more of a buffer, Arissa is the sustain that gets a team through harder content.
Build Arissa if Hyxxis is holding you back, or your team needs a reliable healer for harder difficulties.
10. Dannos
Dannos is a Rare Light Melee Attacker from the Lightseekers, and the first Invoker many accounts take to six stars when their first Legendary is not a damage dealer. His Ultimate, Winds of Serenity, is an eight-hit AoE attack that deals more damage the healthier he is, and Sacral Spike charges forward and places Shock.
Smitebringer adds Weaken on one target. Keep a healer beside him, since his Ultimate needs his HP high to hit its hardest.
Build Dannos if your first problem is clearing waves and you can keep a healer next to him.
Bryneth the Ram (Honorable Mention)
Bryneth the Ram is a Rare Earth Tank from the Stonehearts, and a Rare you can still use in the Arena. Knockout Clang places Taunt on nearby enemies and Reflect Damage on Bryneth, she places ATK Down, and Spinning Justice heals her from the damage she deals.
Kalix (Honorable Mention)
Kalix is a Rare Light Ranged Attacker from the Lightseekers. Breath of the Drake places Burn, her Ultimate instantly ticks the Burns already on her targets, and Might of Constraint places ATK Down. Be wary of Bosses that are immune to Burn or punish it.
Fenrich the Reaver (Honorable Mention)
Fenrich the Reaver is a Rare Dark Melee Attacker from the Beastbloods, and a disruptor more than a damage dealer. Wild Frenzy removes Ultimate Mana from its target over three hits, Beast Lunge increases the cooldown of a random active Skill, and Bladeclaw places ATK Down. He is at his best in the Arena, against opponents who rely on their Ultimates.
