Mawzo Story

Mawzo's motto? Speak softly, carry a big cannon – and have teeth that shred steel. While never seen without his fearsome Dreadcannon, skulduggery is his real weapon of choice. Why bother firing off a shot, when a single word will do? For his utter ruthlessness, he hopes that the people he's sent to sleep with the fishes don't take it personally. It's just business.

Mawzo the Dreadbomb guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Mawzo the Dreadbomb is a Legendary Dark Ranged Attacker from the Freeborn Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. He's a damage dealer built to clear groups and finish enemies off. Foul Fusillade and Grim Bombardment hit up to ten enemies in an 8 metre area, and his Ultimate, Crimson Tide, ignores part of the target's DEF and deals extra damage to a weakened enemy.

His damage scales from ATK. His critical hits also pay out beyond damage: Foul Fusillade gives him Ultimate Mana on every critical hit, and Grim Bombardment gives the ten allies with the lowest HP% Ultimate Mana on every critical hit, so a good opening charges the whole team. He places no debuffs and has no Bleed or Burn, so he doesn't need Accuracy.

He doesn't heal or Shield, and a Ranged Attacker standing in the open is an easy target. He needs a Tank and a healer to keep him alive.

Skills To Prioritize

Crimson Tide costs 1,100 Mana, falling to 1,075 at Level 5, 1,050 at Level 8 and 1,000 at Max Level. It hits one enemy three times, and each hit ignores 15% of the target's DEF at Level 1, 25% at Level 7, 30% at Level 9 and 35% at Max Level. It deals 40% more damage against a target below 25% HP at Level 1, rising to 80% more at Level 10, and the HP threshold reaches 50% at Max Level. That makes it his finishing move for a weakened Boss or a stray enemy.

Foul Fusillade hits the ten enemies with the lowest HP% within 8 metres of its target. It gives him 15 Ultimate Mana per critical hit at Level 1 and 30 at Level 10, and 15 Titan Mana if it kills its target at Level 1 and 30 at Max Level. Its cooldown falls from 27 seconds to 22 at Max Level.

Grim Bombardment also hits ten enemies in an 8 metre area, and gives the ten allies with the lowest HP% 15 Ultimate Mana per critical hit at Level 1 and 30 at Level 10. If it kills its target, it shortens a random Skill's cooldown on Mawzo, by 1 second at Level 1 and 2 at Max Level. Its cooldown falls from 30 seconds to 25 at Max Level.

Dreadcannon is a single-target hit that gives him 10 Ultimate Mana for every debuff on the target at Level 1 and 20 at Max Level, up to 100 and then 160 at Max Level. His fifth Combo Attack shortens Dreadcannon's cooldown, by 0.5 seconds at Level 1 and 1.5 at Max Level.

If you want Mawzo to be best at ending a fight, prioritize Crimson Tide, as Max Level ignores 35% of DEF and deals 80% more damage to targets below 50% HP. If you want him to clear waves of enemies, upgrade Foul Fusillade and Grim Bombardment, as they hit ten enemies and their cooldowns fall to 22 and 25 seconds at Max Level. If you want him to charge your team, consider Grim Bombardment first, as Level 10 gives allies 30 Ultimate Mana on every critical hit.

Build And Team Support

Mawzo doesn't rely on Bleed or Burn, so build Crit Rate to about 75–80%, then as much Crit DMG as the build allows. Past that threshold, Crit DMG is worth more than more Crit Rate. Put Mana Gen on his Talisman for Arena, since his critical hits fill both his Ultimate Mana and his allies'. Add Skill RECOV to bring Foul Fusillade and Grim Bombardment back sooner, as they carry his area damage.

For Relic Sets, Crit Rate Relics help him reach the threshold, and Crit Damage Relics, or Predator for ATK and Crit DMG, raise the size of each critical hit.

He needs a Tank to take the hits and a healer to keep that Tank up. A Support who places Weaken or DEF Down helps Crimson Tide finish targets, and Dreadcannon gains Ultimate Mana from debuffs on the target.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Mawzo hits up to ten enemies at once and his critical hits charge the Ultimates of the whole team through Grim Bombardment. He's fragile, so make sure a Tank draws attention. Be wary of enemy Invokers who can stop him acting early, as his best hits come at the start of a fight.

Against Hyxxis, his native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances match both of the Boss's Corruptions. Foul Fusillade and Grim Bombardment hit up to ten enemies within 8 metres, so they can break the Brood Eggs together. Hyxxis prioritizes Tanks with Ensacment, so bring one to protect Mawzo. He places no Burn or Bleed, so he doesn't shorten Ensacment's cooldown.

In the Dark Spire, Mawzo's area Skills clear waves. Good teammates in his Rarity are Kryxa the Giantfeller, a Tank who places Taunt and ATK Down, and Zhine the Spark, an Epic Support who Shields allies. Both keep him standing while he hits.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Mawzo's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
