Zalasi Bloodthorne guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Zalasi Bloodthorne is an Epic Fire Melee Attacker from the Freeborn Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. His class describes his attack style, but his most useful role is often placing debuffs for other damage dealers. DEF Down and Weaken boost damage against the target, while ATK Down and Combo SPD Down reduce particular kinds of enemy pressure. He's worth considering when your team is missing those jobs.
At Level 60, 6โ and fully Awakened, before Gear and without a Titan, Zalasi has 925 ATK, 633 DEF, 7,906 HP, 15% Crit Rate, 60 Accuracy and 60 Combo SPD. His ATK and HP are both about average for a Melee Attacker. He has no healing, Shield, cleanse or revive, so he needs enough protection from your team to stay active in melee.
Skills To Prioritize
Petalfall places DEF Down and Weaken on enemies within ten metres, then attacks one enemy twice. The debuffs reach several enemies, but the direct attack hits one target, so pair him with real AoE damage when you want to clear waves. At Level 10, Petalfall gives 36% DEF Down and 16% Weaken for 12 seconds. Max Level raises DEF Down to 40%, extends both debuffs to 15 seconds and lowers the Mana cost from 850 to 800. The longer duration and lower cost make this a useful support upgrade, not just a bigger attack. Zalasi needs Accuracy for both effects to land.
DEF Down and Weaken work through different parts of the damage calculation. Don't add the percentages together and expect every ally to deal exactly 56% more damage. The target's DEF, the type of attack and other effects all change the result. What you can count on is that the two debuffs boost damage against affected enemies in different ways.
Pirouette gives Ultimate Mana after its hit. At Max Level the normal gain is 75, replaced by 150 if the hit is a critical hit. The larger gain isn't added on top of the smaller one. That gives Crit Rate a support benefit, but it doesn't guarantee that Petalfall is ready whenever its debuffs run out.
Prestige places Combo SPD Down before attacking. At Level 10 the reduction is 14% for seven seconds. Max Level raises it to 15% with the same duration and a ten-second base cooldown. Combo SPD isn't Move SPD or Skill RECOV. Against Dark Omnissi, Combo SPD Down disables her Active Skill reflection while it's active.
Poise places ATK Down on one target. Level 10 reaches 30% for 11 seconds. Max Level keeps 30%, extends the duration to 13 seconds and cuts the base cooldown to 22 seconds. That can reduce damage from attacks that scale from the affected ATK, but it doesn't reduce every Boss mechanic by 30%.
If you want Zalasi to raise your team's damage, prioritize Petalfall, as Max Level lifts DEF Down to 40% and stretches both debuffs to 15 seconds. If you want him to take the sting out of a hard-hitting enemy, consider upgrading Poise first, as its ATK Down lasts 13 seconds at Max Level. If you're aiming at Dark Omnissi, take Prestige up first, as it's the Skill that places Combo SPD Down.
Build And Team Support
Zalasi places debuffs, so put Accuracy on his Chestplate and Flask and stack as much as the build allows. A high damage number doesn't make up for debuffs that get resisted, and landing them is why you're fielding him. Petalfall is the reason to bring him, so add Mana Gen so it comes around more often. After that, build Crit Rate to 75-80% and as much Crit DMG as you can, which also gets you Pirouette's bigger Mana gain on critical hits. Keep enough HP to survive in melee.
To land his debuffs more consistently, equip Accuracy Relics. To get Petalfall back more often, equip Mana Relics. To trigger Pirouette's critical hit gain more reliably, equip Crit Rate Relics.
Bring damage dealers who can make use of DEF Down and Weaken, genuine AoE damage for waves, and a Tank or healer to keep your team alive through the opponent's opening, as Zalasi doesn't heal or protect your team.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Zalasi can prepare several enemies for your team's damage while adding focused debuffs to a priority threat. He doesn't place a broad hard Control Debuff, so bring a Tank or healer to keep your team alive through the opponent's opening. Decide whether his job is dependable debuffing or personal damage before you spend scarce Gear stats on him.
In the Fire Spire, the area DEF Down and Weaken can boost a wave-clearing damage dealer. His own regular damage is focused, so he can't stand in for every AoE role. Invest in him when your roster needs this combination of debuffs. If another developed Invoker already covers the same effects, healing, protection or wave damage may be the better next upgrade.
Against Dark Omnissi, Prestige's Combo SPD Down disables her Active Skill reflection while it's active. Its seven-second duration on a ten-second base cooldown leaves a gap, even before Skill RECOV and other effects, so don't count on keeping the reflection off permanently. Place it before your team uses active Skills into Dark Omnissi.
Against Galvos, who rewards debuffs, Zalasi's DEF Down, Weaken, ATK Down and Combo SPD Down give your team plenty to work with. Against Sorgott, DEF Down and Weaken from Petalfall support your team's damage.
Build Zalasi around placing his debuffs, and let the rest of the team cover what he doesn't.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Zalasi's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
