Nautila Story

The Nautila that went diving for treasure is not the same Nautila that surfaced on one stormy Freeport night, when her crew had lost all hope of her return. While she speaks with the same voice and seemingly has the same body, her words drip with a unsettling hunger. The eyes that stare out of the helmet glisten with an unfathomable malice. What could be in there?

Nautila the Unfathomable guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Nautila the Unfathomable is a Legendary Dark Melee Attacker from the Freeborn Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. She strips a buff-heavy team of its advantages: Heal Reduction suppresses healing, Jinx blocks new buffs, Seafoam Spiral shortens existing ones and Mindworm blocks susceptible passives. Her value comes from taking enemy advantages away, not only from direct damage.

Fully Awakened and before Gear, Nautila has 1,142 ATK, 747 DEF and 9,331 HP. Her ATK and HP are both high for a Melee Attacker.

Two of her debuffs are scarce. She is one of the few Invokers in the game who place Jinx, and Mindworm is almost as rare, so she is a good candidate if you are building a team that needs either of them.

Skills To Prioritize

Tentacle Blitz attacks twice. The first hit places Jinx, which blocks four buff receptions at Level 10 or five at Max Level, for seventeen seconds. The second places Mindworm for seventeen seconds at both levels. Jinx runs out through charges and time, so it doesn't stop every buff for good. Mindworm blocks susceptible passive Skills, not active Skills. Accuracy helps both land, but it doesn't get past a Boss's own protection.

Seafoam Spiral teleports to the furthest enemy within nine meters and attacks an area three times. Each hit shortens up to five random buffs, by six seconds at Level 10 or seven at Max Level. A buff with less time left than that disappears, but it isn't a full strip of every buff, since random selection and protected buffs still matter. The teleport can also drop Nautila among a different group of enemies, so she needs protection after moving. The Skill lists cooldown reductions when a target has two or fewer buffs, with a separate, larger one for Bosses and Minibosses. It isn't clear whether the two combine, so don't count on a guaranteed reset or Skill loop.

Explosive Whirlpool, her Ultimate, places Heal Reduction on its first hit and Blind on its second. Level 6 is the important breakpoint, as Heal Reduction reaches 100% for eighteen seconds. Level 9 extends the effects to twenty seconds, and Level 10 reaches 30% Blind. At Level 10 and Max Level they are 100% Heal Reduction and 30% Blind for twenty seconds. Max Level improves the damage and lowers the Ultimate's cost from 850 to 800 Mana, but you don't need to wait for it to get full Heal Reduction. Blind affects Combo Attacks, not every Skill. Heal Reduction has to land first and doesn't last forever, however long its duration.

Hull Smasher places 16% Combo SPD Down for seven seconds at Level 10 or eight at Max Level. Her fifth Combo Attack extends random debuffs on its target by 1.5 seconds, with the count rising from two at Level 10 to three at Max Level. That helps keep her debuffs running, but it doesn't promise that one chosen effect gets picked.

If you want Nautila to shut down enemy healing, take Explosive Whirlpool to Level 6 first, as that is where Heal Reduction reaches 100%. If you want her to keep enemies from rebuilding their buffs, upgrade Tentacle Blitz first, as Max Level adds a fifth Jinx charge.

Build And Team Support

Nautila places Jinx, Mindworm, Heal Reduction, Blind and Combo SPD Down, so put Accuracy on her Chestplate and Flask and stack as much as the build allows. After that, build ATK and Crit Rate to about 75-80%, then as much Crit DMG as the build allows. Past that point, Crit DMG is worth more than more Crit Rate. Add enough HP and DEF to survive in melee. She has native Bloodrot and Manashock Tolerances, which match Sakiel's Corruptions.

For Relic Sets, Accuracy Relics help her debuffs land more consistently, and Crit Rate Relics help you reach the Crit Rate threshold. Mana Relics add Mana Gen, which helps with the Mana cost of Explosive Whirlpool. For more damage once those are covered, Predator Relics add ATK and, at five pieces, Crit DMG.

She has no heal, Shield or revive, so bring a healer and a Tank beside her.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Nautila's area Heal Reduction, Blind and buff shortening hit teams that rely on buffs and healing, with allies providing the damage and sustain.

Against Sorgott, Jinx stops him receiving buffs and stops his DEF building through Despair Feast. Mindworm can't switch off his passives, so Tentacle Blitz's second hit won't help there.

Against Sakiel, Jinx blocks the buffs he grants himself, and Mindworm freezes the cooldown of the Skill that grants Sakiel his buffs, though it doesn't switch off his Burn and Bleed passive.

Against Dark Omnissi, Hull Smasher places Combo SPD Down, which switches off her active Skill reflection while it stays on.

In the Dark Spire, her area Heal Reduction, Blind and buff shortening help a wave-clearing team, but allies need to provide the damage and sustain.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Nautila's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
