Skoloss Story

Under the neon-lit cobbles of Shadespire lie a labyrinth of tombs. A vast hive of ossuaries and necropolises, all kept in check by one dutiful cryptkeeper – Skoloss. It's this immortal wight's unending duty to make sure the dead in these catacombs stay dead. Skoloss's Barony is the sole one the New Blood let stand – as he is the only thing stopping the entire Evernight Basin being overrun by Undead.

Skoloss the Tomb Baron guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Skoloss the Tomb Baron is a Legendary Water Tank from the Nocturna Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. He earns his place on the front line with more than durability: he draws enemies into his control, lowers their ATK, cleanses allies and turns every enemy hit by his area attacks into Titan Mana. His Ultimate, Vitality Siphon, heals him and places Weaken, so the rest of your team benefits from the space he creates.

His damage scales from both ATK and DEF, and DEF counts for a lot, so the build that keeps him alive also feeds his damage. That doesn't make him a substitute for a dedicated damage dealer, so his first job is staying alive while enemies attack him.

Fully Awakened and before Gear, Skoloss has 364 ATK, 1,261 DEF and 12,294 HP. His ATK is about average for a Tank, his DEF is the highest of any Tank and his HP is one of the highest.

Skills To Prioritize

Revenant Charge has two separate areas. It places ATK Down on enemies hit along the charge path, while Taunt picks the enemies with the lowest current HP in a surrounding radius, so a Taunted enemy didn't necessarily get ATK Down. It can disrupt a vulnerable enemy backline, but drawing extra attackers onto an under-built Tank can still lose you the fight. At Level 10 it places 55% ATK Down for 13 seconds and a seven-second Taunt on a 23-second base cooldown. Max Level extends ATK Down to 15 seconds and lowers the cooldown to 22.

Graveyard Smash is his team Skill. It removes two debuffs from nearby allies and gives them two charges of Immunity, which blocks ordinary debuffs but not Control Debuffs such as Stun. It also generates Titan Mana for every enemy it hits, going from 10 per enemy to 25 at Level 10 and 30 at Max Level, so a crowded wave gives you more Titan Mana than a lone target. The number of enemies it actually hits matters more than its listed maximum. The base cooldown falls from 30 to 26 seconds, then to 25.

Crypt Crusher transfers a random debuff from Skoloss to an enemy and extends its duration. That gives him a recurring way to get rid of a removable debuff, as long as the effect lands on the enemy. It doesn't replace the wider cleansing of Graveyard Smash, and debuffs that can't be removed won't automatically transfer.

Vitality Siphon Pulls enemies, places Weaken and heals Skoloss from his own MAX HP. The heal is for him alone. At Level 10 it heals 30% of his own MAX HP and places 25% Weaken. Max Level raises Weaken to 30% and lowers the Mana cost to 800, a real team damage upgrade even if the target is immune to the Pull. His fifth Combo Attack can also Stun, giving a small opening against susceptible enemies. Be wary of Bosses that are immune to Control Debuffs, as they won't be affected by that Stun or the Pull.

If you want Skoloss to control enemies, prioritize Revenant Charge, as Max Level extends ATK Down to 15 seconds and lowers its cooldown to 22 seconds. If you want him to cleanse your team and feed your Titan, consider upgrading Graveyard Smash first, as Max Level raises its Titan Mana to 30 per enemy hit and trims its cooldown to 25 seconds. If your team needs more damage, upgrade Vitality Siphon first, as Max Level raises Weaken to 30%.

Build And Team Support

Skoloss places ATK Down, Taunt and Weaken, so put Accuracy on his Chestplate first and stack more after that as the build allows. Build DEF first, then HP, then RES, up to about 300 for Bosses, with more for Arena. Add Skill RECOV to bring Revenant Charge and Graveyard Smash back sooner.

For Relic Sets, Defense Relics raise the DEF his damage and survival scale from, and Health Relics add to his HP. Accuracy Relics help his Taunt, ATK Down and Weaken land, and Fury Relics add Skill RECOV so his Skills come back sooner.

He heals himself rather than the whole team, so bring a healer for sustained group healing.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Taunt, ATK Down and team cleansing can break up the opponent's opening. Accuracy helps his debuffs land and Skill RECOV brings his Skills back sooner. If his Taunt lands on several attackers, Skoloss also needs the HP to withstand their assault.

Pentiax rewards Titan damage, so Graveyard Smash's Titan Mana generation will help you get your Titans faster, and Skoloss's native Mindfog Tolerance helps against Pentiax's Mindfog Corruption.

Against Althar, Graveyard Smash's cleansing and Vitality Siphon's Weaken can help, but Skoloss doesn't place Block Revive, so bring another Invoker who does for Althar's reviving minions. Against Hyxxis, Skoloss still needs teammates who can break the eggs.

Against Sorgott, debuff management matters, and Graveyard Smash removes ordinary debuffs before they strengthen him. It can't cleanse Swarm, and Skoloss doesn't place Jinx or remove buffs, so bring another Invoker to deal with Sorgott's own buffs. DEF doesn't stop every attack that bypasses it either, so build Manaburn Tolerance and Crush Tolerance Relics for Sorgott's Corruptions and bring teammates who cover the other gaps.

Against Omnissi, Graveyard Smash's cleansing and Immunity help. Be wary of Astral Omnissi stealing buffs, and note that Wind Omnissi needs Move SPD Down and Dark Omnissi needs Combo SPD Down, which Skoloss doesn't place, so bring Invokers who do.

In the Water Spire, Taunt and Graveyard Smash's debuff removal protect weaker teammates while your attackers clear the wave, and Graveyard Smash's Titan Mana per enemy hit is at its best in dense fights. He has no team Shield, group heal or revive, so add recovery or extra protection if your team survives the opening but loses in the later waves.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Skoloss's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.

Review the Awakening guide for more detail.
