Roxxi & Gumm Story

You wouldn't think a girl with bubblegum hair, riding a bear made of slime, would be Shadespire's most notorious bouncer. Nor would you think that this duo are key players in Shadespire's criminal underworld, yet Roxxi & Gumm are both. Roxxi rose to power by creating Gumm from a nigh-indestructible goo of her own design. Now everyone wants a taste - but power doesn't come cheap.

Roxxi & Gumm guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Roxxi & Gumm are a Legendary Light Melee Attacker from the Nocturna Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. They bring more than direct damage: they can interrupt an enemy, push it out of position, lower its ATK and delay its Skills and Mana. That makes them a good fit in a team trying to stop a dangerous opponent from executing its opening.

Fully Awakened and before Gear, Roxxi & Gumm have 1,113 ATK, 747 DEF and 9,590 HP. Their ATK and HP are both high for a Melee Attacker.

Two of their debuffs are scarce. They are one of the few Invokers who place Skill Recovery Down, and Crit Rate Down is almost as rare, so they're a good candidate if you are building a team that needs either of them.

Skills To Prioritize

Double Trouble attacks one enemy and then a random enemy in range, placing Stun with each hit. It can Stun two targets, but the second is random, so it isn't precise control over the whole enemy team. Stun prevents movement and Skill use while it lasts; it doesn't pause the target's cooldown countdown. The Stun reaches three seconds at Level 6, 3.8 seconds at Level 10 and four seconds at Max Level.

Spike Splat hits an area and places Skill Recovery Down. That delays the target's normal access to active Skills rather than adding another Stun. At Level 10 it places 30% Skill Recovery Down for fourteen seconds, rising to sixteen at Max Level.

Gumm Sling focuses one enemy with three hits: ATK Down, Crit Rate Down, then Launch and Move SPD Down. A susceptible Melee Attacker has to recover from the control and cover the distance again before returning to its preferred position. Gumm Sling reaches 60% ATK Down for fourteen seconds at Level 10. Max Level extends it to sixteen seconds and improves Crit Rate Down and Move SPD Down to 40% and 50%.

The fifth Combo Attack removes Titan Mana, while Chomp, Chomp, Chomp! removes Ultimate Mana from enemies hit along its charge path. They are different resources, so check which one an enemy relies on. The Ultimate also gives Roxxi & Gumm personal Willpower and Immunity: Willpower blocks Control Debuffs and Immunity blocks ordinary debuffs, each with limited charges.

Chomp, Chomp, Chomp! also reduces all of their active Skill cooldowns, but only when its target is a Boss or miniboss. At Max Level the reduction reaches fourteen seconds. That's a valuable rotation tool against a qualifying target, but it doesn't create the same cycle against ordinary Arena opponents. Use active Skills before the Ultimate when their recovery is the reason for the cast: a reduction spent on a Skill that's already ready is wasted. The resulting rotation still depends on Skill RECOV, animation time, Mana income and interruptions, so don't count on a fixed repeat interval.

If you want Roxxi & Gumm to cycle their Skills against Bosses or deny Mana, prioritize Chomp, Chomp, Chomp!. If you want single-target suppression, consider upgrading Gumm Sling first, as Max Level extends ATK Down to sixteen seconds. If you want longer control, upgrade Double Trouble first, as Max Level gives a four-second Stun.

Build And Team Support

Roxxi & Gumm place Stun, Launch, ATK Down, Crit Rate Down and Skill Recovery Down, so put Accuracy on their Chestplate and Flask and stack as much as the build allows. Chasing damage while every debuff gets resisted leaves a lot of the kit unused. After that, build ATK and Crit Rate to about 75-80%, then as much Crit DMG as the build allows. Past that point, Crit DMG is worth more than more Crit Rate. Add enough HP and DEF to survive up close. Skill RECOV helps their active Skills cycle, and Mana Gen helps them cast Chomp, Chomp, Chomp!. They have native Crush and Fatigue Tolerances.

For Relic Sets, Accuracy Relics help their debuffs land more consistently, and Crit Rate Relics help you reach the Crit Rate threshold. For more damage once those are covered, Predator Relics add ATK and, at five pieces, Crit DMG. Fury Relics add Skill RECOV, and Mana Relics add Mana Gen for the Ultimate.

They don't heal, Shield or revive, so bring a Support and a frontline that let them keep working, rather than expecting the control to cover every incoming attack.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Mana denial can delay an enemy's next big Skill, Stun can interrupt a vulnerable target, and Gumm Sling can knock a Melee Attacker away from its team. Willpower helps protect the Ultimate, but its limited charges don't make them permanently immune to control.

Against Sorgott, Roxxi & Gumm have native Crush Tolerance, but they don't place Jinx or steal buffs, and they can't cleanse allies' debuffs, so bring another Invoker to deal with his buffs and cover his other Corruptions through Manaburn Tolerance Relics or teammates. Be wary of Bosses that are immune to Stun or Launch, as those effects do nothing even if the attack still deals damage.

Against Althar, they don't place Block Revive, so bring another Invoker who does for his reviving minions. Against Pentiax, who rewards Titan damage, they don't generate Titan Mana for your Titan, so bring another Invoker who does.

Against Wind Omnissi, Gumm Sling's Move SPD Down answers her Combo-evasion. The debuff has to land and stay active, and she shortens debuff durations, so timing matters. Against Dark Omnissi, who reflects active Skill damage, Combo SPD Down suppresses that, and Roxxi & Gumm don't place it, so bring another Invoker who does before relying on a busy active Skill rotation.

In the Light Spire, Spike Splat and the Ultimate cover areas while the single-target Skills handle dangerous survivors.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Roxxi & Gumm's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
