Confar Story

From his lofty perch, the ever-burning Hawk's Eye, Confar guards the Eldrin frontier. It is a silent watch, far away from the endless bickering of the court. Confar likes it this way. Here, it's just him, the watchtower's fire, and the occasional goblin scream as they fall beneath his flaming blade.

Confar the Burnished guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Confar the Burnished is an Epic Fire Tank from the Eldrin Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. His kit combines RES Down, Burn, a personal Shield and a team Shield based on damage dealt. He does more than survive: he's a good pick when your team can use his debuffs and doesn't already have every defensive job covered.

His damage scales from both ATK and DEF, his personal Shield from MAX HP, his Burn cap from ATK and his Ultimate's Shield from damage dealt. Fully Awakened and before Gear, Confar has 327 ATK, 901 DEF and 11,474 HP. His ATK and DEF are about average for a Tank, and his HP is high. Because the formulas differ, no single stat tells you how he'll perform.

His limitations are clear too. He has no Taunt to force enemy targeting, no cleanse to remove allied debuffs, and no heal or revive. His Shields cut the damage your team takes in future, but they can't undo mistakes after they happen. Pair him with recovery or control when the fight needs it.

Skills To Prioritize

Flamerake places RES Down on one enemy, on a ten-second cooldown. Level 10 gives 38% for five seconds; Max Level gives 40% for six. It helps a team built around debuffs, but the short duration means you should land your other debuffs while it's up, because it won't keep RES down permanently. Confar needs Accuracy for RES Down, Burn and DEF Down to land.

Cinderthrust places a Burn that also damages enemies standing within six metres of the target. At Level 10, the main tick is 1.5% of the target's MAX HP and the splash tick is 0.75%, each capped at 350% of Confar's ATK. Max Level keeps those percentages and the eight-second duration, but raises the cap to 400% of his ATK and lowers the cooldown to 21 seconds. Burn isn't unlimited Boss damage: the cap and each Boss's own rules still apply. The splash helps against clustered enemies, but it doesn't turn every cast into full-field area damage, because the other enemies have to be near the target.

Burnished Hawk gives Confar personal protection after an area attack. At Level 10, its Shield equals 30% of his MAX HP and lasts 12 seconds, alongside 35% DEF Up. Max Level keeps the Shield size, extends both effects to 14 seconds, raises DEF Up to 40% and lowers the cooldown to 23 seconds. Extra HP directly improves this Shield, and the DEF Up helps his damage, which scales partly from DEF.

His Ultimate, Feather Comet, attacks one enemy three times, with the first hit placing DEF Down, then gives nearby allies a Shield based on damage dealt. At Level 10, the Shield is 45% of damage dealt and lasts 12 seconds. Max Level raises it to 50%, extends it to 15 seconds and lowers the cost to 800 Mana. DEF Down stays at 30% for 15 seconds at both levels.

If you want Confar to protect the team, upgrade Feather Comet first, as Max Level raises its Shield from 45% to 50% of damage dealt and extends it from 12 to 15 seconds. If you want him to be a sturdy front-liner, upgrade Burnished Hawk first, as Max Level raises its DEF Up from 35% to 40% and extends it from 12 to 14 seconds. If you want him to set up your debuffs, consider Flamerake and Cinderthrust first, as Max Level lengthens RES Down to six seconds and raises Burn's cap to 400% of his ATK.

Build And Team Support

Invest in DEF first, then HP, then RES, and put Accuracy on his Chestplate and add as much as the build allows, because RES Down, Burn and DEF Down all need to land. Get RES up to about 300 for Bosses, and more for Arena, where enemy debuffs that land can cost you the fight. His two Shields pull in different directions: a purely defensive build keeps Confar alive but leaves the damage-based Shield modest, while giving up too much durability for damage undermines his frontline job. If you're not sure what's going wrong, check whether Confar is dying, his debuffs are missing or his Shields are too small, then raise the stat that fixes that.

For Relic Sets, the Defense Set raises his DEF, which survival and his damage both use. The Health Set raises his HP, which makes his personal Shield bigger. The Accuracy Set helps RES Down, Burn and DEF Down land.

Bring someone who can cleanse allies, heal or revive, since Confar can't, and an Invoker who forces enemy targeting if you need one.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Confar can help you through a longer fight with Shields and debuffs, but he can't interrupt a dangerous opening Skill. If you need immediate control or guaranteed redirection of attacks, bring it from another Invoker. His Ultimate also needs Mana before it can protect the group, so don't count on it as opening protection in every fight.

Against Galvos, Confar's debuffs and Feather Comet's Shields are a good fit, since his mechanics respond to debuffs on him and buffs on his victims. Against Sakiel, be wary of Cinderthrust's Burn, as he takes less Burn damage and speeds up his Skills from Burn ticks.

Against Sorgott, Feather Comet's Shield helps your team, but bring teammates for cleansing and Boss buff removal. Against Fire Omnissi, Cinderthrust's Burn does nothing, as she is immune to Burn. Against Light Omnissi, lean on his Shields over excessive healing. Against Astral Omnissi, be wary of her theft, which can turn your buffs into a liability.

Against Hyxxis, be wary of Cinderthrust's Burn. Hyxxis's Sludger passive shortens the Ensacment cooldown by one second whenever Burn or Bleed is applied to Hyxxis. Repeated applications can bring the next sac forward while a surviving Tank is still protected from retargeting by Sludge, exposing another ally. It's an application trigger, not a penalty on every damage tick. Factor it into your Tank rotation instead of treating damage over time as free extra Boss damage.

In the Fire Spire, his area attack and Burn splash add wave pressure alongside his own durability. He's more attractive when your team lacks a Shield source or useful debuffs. If the real problem is cleansing, resurrection or a strict burst check, another Invoker may answer it more directly.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Confar's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
