Wild King Caladras guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Wild King Caladras is an Epic Fire Tank from the Eldrin Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. He protects your team and helps it hit harder: Deflection moves part of your allies' incoming damage onto him, DEF Down and Weaken make enemies easier to hurt, and his extensions and instant ticks keep damage-over-time effects working. The protection has a real cost, though, because the damage he takes for allies lands on Caladras himself.
His damage scales partly from DEF, so building DEF helps both his survival and his attacks.
Fully Awakened and before Gear, Caladras has 251 ATK, 1,067 DEF and 10,655 HP.
He has no Taunt, so Deflection doesn't make enemies target him. It only moves damage already aimed at allies onto him. He has no heal or Shield either, so your team has to keep him alive some other way, such as a healer.
Skills To Prioritize
Monarchic Decree charges toward an enemy within eight meters, tracking for up to five seconds. Its attack depends on reaching the target. It places area DEF Down at 45%, lasting ten seconds at Level 10 or twelve at Max Level. It also gives nearby allies 20% Deflection for fifteen seconds. Deflection moves that share of the damage allies would take onto Caladras, while the ally takes the rest. Several allies taking damage together can add up to a large load on him.
Will of the Land, his Ultimate, attacks three times. Its first hit places 15% Weaken and its second places 35% DEF Down, both lasting sixteen seconds at Level 10 or eighteen at Max Level. The 35% DEF Down from his Ultimate and Monarchic Decree's 45% don't become 80%. The stronger effect applies while it's active. Their different durations can keep DEF Down running longer, but not stronger. Weaken and DEF Down are separate effects, so both help your team's damage, but don't add their percentages together.
Untamed Heart attacks twice and extends random debuffs on the target with each hit. Level 6 adds a second effect per application. At Level 10 each hit extends up to two debuffs by 4.8 seconds, and Max Level improves that to up to three by six seconds. The debuffs are chosen at random, so you can't count on both extensions going to one chosen debuff. The target needs debuffs on it first, and they have to land.
Wildland Rebuke instantly ticks one Burn or Bleed effect at Level 10, and two at Max Level. The Skill's wording doesn't give a separate limit for each, so don't expect a doubled total. Caladras doesn't place Burn or Bleed himself, so he needs allies for that part of his kit.
If you want Caladras to protect allies and set up your damage, prioritize Monarchic Decree, as Max Level extends its DEF Down from ten to twelve seconds. If you want him to keep your debuffs running, consider upgrading Untamed Heart first, as Level 6 adds a second effect per hit and Max Level takes it to three by six seconds. If your team places Burn or Bleed, upgrade Wildland Rebuke, as Max Level ticks two effects instead of one.
Build And Team Support
Caladras places DEF Down, Weaken and extends debuffs, so put Accuracy on his Chestplate first and stack more after that as the build allows. Build DEF first, then HP, then RES, up to about 300 for Bosses, with more for Arena. DEF keeps him alive under the damage Deflection sends him and feeds his damage.
For Relic Sets, Defense Relics raise the DEF his damage and survival scale from, and Health Relics give him a bigger pool to absorb redirected damage. Accuracy Relics help his DEF Down and Weaken land.
Caladras has native Bloodrot and Paralysis Tolerances. Bring a healer, since he has no heal or Shield of his own, and allies who place Burn or Bleed so Wildland Rebuke has something to tick. Damage dealers get the most from his DEF Down and Weaken.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, area DEF Down, Weaken and Deflection work best with a healer and damage dealers beside him. Because he has no Taunt, enemies can still choose their own targets, and Deflection protects whoever they hit.
Against Earth Omnissi, who has Bloodrot and Paralysis Corruptions, Caladras's native Bloodrot and Paralysis Tolerances match her. Be wary of her Bleed immunity, as it stops Wildland Rebuke from instantly ticking Bleed on her.
In the Fire Spire, DEF Down and Weaken help your damage dealers clear waves, and Deflection spreads the damage your team takes onto him. Make sure he has the healing to survive it.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Caladras's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
