Ruthos the Enthralled guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Ruthos the Enthralled is an Epic Earth Tank from the Lightseekers Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. He protects the whole team: he removes debuffs, gives allies Shields, and charges through enemies with an Ultimate that Launches them and places Heal Reduction. That makes him valuable when your roster needs protection but you don't want to spend two team spots on a cleanser and a Shield Support.
His damage scales from both ATK and DEF, while his Shields scale from his own MAX HP. Fully Awakened and before Gear, Ruthos has 313 ATK, 1,053 DEF and 10,108 HP, all about average for a Tank, so extra HP is what makes his Shields bigger.
The important limitation is that Ruthos doesn't Taunt. Being a Tank doesn't force enemies to focus him, so if your team depends on redirecting attacks, bring that from another Invoker. He also has no heal or revive. Shields absorb future damage, but they can't recover health already lost or bring back a fallen attacker.
Skills To Prioritize
Her Glorious Mercy is the main reason to develop Ruthos. At Level 1 it removes one random debuff from each affected ally. Level 6 raises that to two, and Level 10 raises it to three. Max Level keeps three removals but lowers the cooldown to 20 seconds. Going from one removal to three helps a lot when several debuffs land on your team at once.
Her Glittering Shield attacks twice and places the team Shield on the second hit. At Level 10 it Shields for 25% of Ruthos's MAX HP for 13 seconds, on a 26-second cooldown. Max Level raises that to 30% and lowers the cooldown to 25 seconds. Damage can use a Shield up before its timer ends, and 13 seconds is only half the cooldown, so don't count on it covering the team all the time.
Her Crippling Strength places Move SPD Down on one target. At Level 10 it slows movement by 50% for 5.5 seconds; Max Level extends that to six seconds, on a ten-second cooldown. It can slow down a fast enemy, but its clearest use is against Wind Omnissi, whose Combo evasion is disabled while Move SPD Down is active. Landing and keeping the debuff up still matters.
His Ultimate, Her Deadly Command, charges along a path, Launching enemies and placing Heal Reduction. Level 10 is the key breakpoint, because Heal Reduction reaches 100% for 15 seconds. Max Level gives a 2.5-second Launch, 16 seconds of Heal Reduction and a cost of 800 Mana. It still has to land to work, and it doesn't block resurrection.
If you want Ruthos to keep your team free of debuffs, upgrade Her Glorious Mercy first, as it goes from one removal to three at Level 10. If you want him to protect the team with Shields, upgrade Her Glittering Shield first, as Max Level raises the Shield to 30% of his MAX HP. If you want him to shut down enemy healing, upgrade Her Deadly Command to Level 10, where Heal Reduction reaches 100%.
Build And Team Support
Build HP first, since it sets the size of his team Shield, then DEF, which also feeds his damage. After that, build Accuracy so Launch, Heal Reduction and Move SPD Down land: put it on his Chestplate and add as much as the build allows. Add RES up to about 300 for Bosses, and more for Arena, where a debuff that is resisted does nothing.
For Relic Sets, the Health Set raises his HP, which makes his Shields bigger. The Accuracy Set helps his debuffs and Launch land. The Defense Set adds DEF for his damage and survival.
Since he has no Taunt, bring an Invoker who draws enemy attacks, and bring healing or revival, because Shields can't recover health already lost.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Ruthos's charge can break up an enemy formation while his Shields and cleansing back up your counterattack. The charge only hits enemies along its path, not everyone wherever they stand. He also needs Accuracy for Launch, Heal Reduction and Move SPD Down: surviving the fight isn't enough if the useful enemy effects get resisted.
Against Sorgott, Her Glorious Mercy removes ordinary removable debuffs from your team, but not Swarm, and Her Glittering Shield gives allies a Shield based on Ruthos's MAX HP.
Against Ulgorim, Her Deadly Command's 100% Heal Reduction at Level 10 is the Skill to use when his healing is what stops you. Against Galvos, Her Glittering Shield's Shield counts as a buff on an ally, which ties into his buff-based damage reduction. Against Sakiel, who gains powerful buffs from his Skills, Her Glorious Mercy only cleanses debuffs on your allies, so bring Mindworm, Jinx or buff stealing from another Invoker.
Against Wind Omnissi, Her Crippling Strength places Move SPD Down, which turns off her Combo evasion. Against Light Omnissi, whose passive destroys part of an Invoker's MAX HP whenever they are healed, Her Glittering Shield protects the team without healing. Against Fire Omnissi, who places Burn on your whole team, and Water Omnissi, who places Move SPD Down on it every 15 seconds, Her Glorious Mercy's three removals clear those debuffs. Against Astral Omnissi, be wary of her buff theft, as your Shields are buffs.
In the Earth Spire, group Shields and multi-debuff cleansing make him a good development target. His Ultimate disrupts groups, but most of his regular damage is single-target, so bring wave damage and recovery from other Invokers when fights drag on or the incoming damage is heavy. He's most valuable when your roster is missing those defensive jobs.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Ruthos's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
