Kris the Quill guide: skills, build and team roles

Overview

Kris the Quill is a Legendary Light Ranged Attacker from the Lightseekers Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. Her main focus is on getting rid of enemy buffs. Songbird Sigil removes random buffs from the ten enemies with the lowest HP in an area, Emerald Dance steals every buff from its target five times while ignoring DEF for each buff it finds, and Feather Kick places Disable to block the target's Active Skills. Her Skills also feed each other: Flock Flurry shortens Songbird Sigil's cooldown when the target has buffs and gives Kris Titan Mana when it has none, so she's rewarded either way.

Fully Awakened and before Gear, Kris has 1,316 ATK, 735 DEF and 7,906 HP, and 60 Accuracy. Her ATK is one of a couple of the highest in the game, and her HP is high for a Ranged Attacker.

Only six Invokers in the game place Disable, and only seven can remove buffs, so she's a good candidate if you're building a team that needs either.

Skills To Prioritize

Feather Kick hits one enemy for 155% ATK at Level 1 and 310% ATK at Max Level, and places Disable. Disable blocks the target from using its Active Skills for 3 seconds at Level 1, 5.5 seconds at Level 10 and 6 seconds at Max Level. It stops Active Skills, not every enemy action, and it needs Accuracy to land. Its base cooldown is 10 seconds.

Songbird Sigil picks an enemy up to 14 meters away and hits the ten enemies with the lowest current HP within 10 meters of it, for 162.5% ATK at Level 1 and 325% ATK at Max Level. It removes random buffs from each: 2 at Level 1, 3 at Level 2, 4 at Level 6, 5 at Level 9 and 6 at Max Level. It also gives Kris Ultimate Mana, 2% at Level 1 and 5% from Level 10. It needs Accuracy, and its base cooldown is 28 seconds.

Flock Flurry hits one enemy three times, for 107.5% ATK each at Level 1 and 215% ATK at Max Level. If the target has no buffs, Kris gains Titan Mana: 75 at Level 1, 100 at Level 2, 125 at Level 6 and 150 from Level 8. If the target has buffs, the Skill shortens Songbird Sigil's cooldown instead, by 2 seconds for every buff at Level 1, 3 from Level 4 and 4 from Level 10. Its base cooldown is 30 seconds.

Emerald Dance costs 1,100 Mana. It hits one enemy five times, for 105% ATK each at Level 1 and 210% ATK at Max Level. Each hit ignores a share of the target's DEF for every buff it has: 3% at Level 1 and 6% from Level 10. It also steals all of the target's buffs five times, which needs Accuracy. Level 10 already has the full DEF bonus, so Max Level only raises the damage from 197.4% to 210% ATK.

Her fifth Combo Attack ties these together: it shortens Songbird Sigil's cooldown by 0.5 seconds at Level 1 and 1.5 at Max Level if the target has buffs, and gives Kris Ultimate Mana, 15 at Level 1 and 25 at Max Level, if the target has none.

If you want Kris to strip buffs from groups of enemies, prioritize Songbird Sigil, as Max Level removes six buffs from each target and doubles its damage from Level 1. If you want her to focus on the steal and burst damage, consider upgrading Emerald Dance first, as Level 10 reaches 6% DEF ignored for every buff. If you want her to bring Titans faster and cycle Songbird Sigil more often, upgrade Flock Flurry, as Level 8 gives 150 Titan Mana and Level 10 shortens Songbird Sigil by 4 seconds for every buff.

Build And Team Support

Kris places Disable, removes buffs and steals them, and all three need Accuracy to land, so put Accuracy on her Chestplate and Flask, and stack more after that as the build allows. Then build Crit Rate to about 75–80%, and as much Crit DMG as the build allows: her kit doesn't rely on Bleed or Burn, so past that Crit Rate threshold, Crit DMG is worth more than extra Crit Rate. Emerald Dance costs 1,100 Mana, so put Mana Gen on her Talisman, especially for Arena. Skill RECOV helps bring Songbird Sigil, the Skill that carries her kit, back sooner.

For Relic Sets, Accuracy Relics help Feather Kick, Songbird Sigil and Emerald Dance land. Predator gives ATK +10% with three pieces and Crit DMG +40% with five, and Mana Relics bring Emerald Dance round sooner. Voodoo reduces the duration of one random buff on the target with her third and fifth Combo Attacks, which suits a kit built against buffs. For more damage, equip Predator or Attack; to land her effects more consistently, equip Accuracy. She has native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances.

She has no heal or Shield, so bring a Support and a Tank to protect her.

Arena, Bosses And Spires

In Arena, Feather Kick's Disable blocks an enemy's Active Skills, Songbird Sigil strips buffs from up to ten enemies, and Emerald Dance steals what's left, so setups that rely on buffs fall apart. Be wary of enemy Invokers who have Immunity or cleansing Skills, as they can stop her Disable and remove her other debuffs.

Against Sorgott, whose Skills grant him buffs and who steals yours with Immortal Thief, Songbird Sigil removes his buffs and Emerald Dance steals them. Kris's native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances match both of his Corruptions.

Against Hyxxis, her native Crush and Manaburn Tolerances match both of her Corruptions too.

Against Sakiel, whose buffs can be stolen if you beat his RES, Emerald Dance does exactly that, though she needs Accuracy to get past it.

Against Earth Omnissi, who asks for Invokers who block, purge or steal her buffs, Songbird Sigil removes them and Emerald Dance steals them. Against Fire Omnissi and Dark Omnissi, Kris's native Manaburn Tolerance matches their Damage Corruption.

Against Pentiax, who asks for Invokers who generate Titan Mana quickly, Flock Flurry gives Kris up to 150 Titan Mana when the target has no buffs.

In the Light Spire, Songbird Sigil and Emerald Dance take buffs from priority enemies, and Feather Kick blocks one enemy's Active Skills. Good teammates in her Rarity are Jutsubo, who combines HP-based healing with DEF Down and area ATK Down, and Virtus the Heavensent, a Tank who can revive the team and redirects part of allies' incoming damage to himself.

Awaken

Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Kris's potential.

Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
