Granvil guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Granvil is an Epic Fire Melee Attacker from the Stonehearts Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. He specializes in stripping buffs from one enemy and exploiting the opening. Buff stealing, Mindworm and Titan Mana gain set him apart from a straightforward damage dealer, and together they make him a strong pick when a target leans on buffs or passive Skills.
Mindworm is scarce: he is one of the few Invokers in the game who place it, so he's a good candidate if you're building a team that needs it.
Fully Awakened and before Gear, Granvil has 967 ATK, 640 DEF and 7,459 HP. His ATK and HP are both about average for a Melee Attacker.
Skills To Prioritize
Molten Crucible steals random enemy buffs and increases their duration on Granvil. It starts with two effects, reaches three at Level 7 and four at Max Level. At Level 10 the extension is six seconds; Max Level raises it to seven and lowers the base cooldown from 24 to 23 seconds. The count matters when enemies carry several removable buffs. It doesn't let him steal protected or unremovable effects, and because the selection is random, stealing three effects isn't a guarantee of taking the one buff that matters most if more are present.
Helter Smelter places Mindworm for thirteen seconds at Level 10 and Max Level. Mindworm blocks susceptible passive Skills from activating. It doesn't silence active Skills, and Boss-specific immunities can protect a Boss's passive. Max Level keeps the thirteen-second Mindworm and mainly improves damage and cooldown.
Magma Hammer gives Ultimate Mana on a critical hit, 38 at Level 10 and 40 at Max Level. Crit Rate therefore helps this Mana gain as well as damage. The amount is modest next to the Ultimate's cost, so don't treat it as a self-sustaining loop.
Forge Destiny, his Ultimate, attacks one enemy twice. At Level 10 and Max Level, each hit gives 150 Titan Mana if the target has no buffs. A successful Molten Crucible can prepare that, but buffs that remain or are newly placed can stop it. Keep the two resources apart: the Ultimate costs 850 Ultimate Mana at Level 10 or 800 at Max Level, while the Mana it returns is Titan Mana. It isn't an Ultimate refund.
If you want Granvil to strip buffs from a dangerous target, prioritize Molten Crucible, as Level 7 adds a third stolen effect and Max Level adds a fourth. If you mainly want him to block passives, Helter Smelter already gives thirteen seconds of Mindworm at Level 10, so you can leave it there unless you want the extra damage and shorter cooldown.
Build And Team Support
Put Accuracy on Granvil's Chestplate and Flask, then stack as much as the build allows, as both Mindworm and buff stealing need it to land. After that, build Crit Rate to around 75-80%, as Magma Hammer's Mana gain needs critical hits, then as much Crit DMG as the build allows. Keep enough HP and DEF to survive in melee. He has native Bloodrot and Manashock Tolerances.
For Relic Sets, Accuracy Relics help Mindworm and his buff stealing land. Crit Rate Relics make Magma Hammer's Mana gain and his hits more reliable, and Crit Damage Relics make each critical hit harder, which matters once the Crit Rate is there.
He brings no healing, Shield or revive, so a Tank and a healer are more useful beside him than more damage. Pair him with Invokers who can use the opening he creates before the enemy rebuilds its buffs.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Granvil gives your team clear targets for buff theft and passive blocking. He's at his best when removing those advantages changes the fight, especially if your allies can use the opening.
Against Sorgott, Molten Crucible's buff theft is very useful, since you can steal his buffs for yourself. Against Sakiel, Mindworm freezes the cooldown of the Skill that grants his buffs, though it doesn't switch off his Burn and Bleed passive, and stealing his powerful buffs with Molten Crucible is just as valuable.
In the Fire Spire, every Skill he has hits a single enemy, so he works beside a wave clearer, handling a dangerous priority target rather than replacing area damage.
Granvil is worth developing when his buff theft, Mindworm and Titan Mana solve a specific problem for your team.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Granvil's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
