Highguard Hundrik guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Highguard Hundrik is an Epic Wind Melee Attacker from the Stonehearts Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. His main reason to join a team is focused damage against a prepared target. Stern Rebuke gets stronger with every debuff on the enemy, while his Ultimate returns Mana and cycles his active Skills. He is at his best beside Invokers who place reliable debuffs.
At Level 60, 6★ and fully Awakened, before Gear and without a Titan, Hundrik has 982 ATK, 603 DEF and 7,716 HP. His ATK and HP are both about average for a Melee Attacker. He brings no healing, Shield, group cleanse or revive. Back, Fiend! can move debuffs off him onto an enemy, but that only protects Hundrik, not the rest of the team. He needs enough HP to stay in melee range, so don't pour everything into ATK.
Skills To Prioritize
Stern Rebuke attacks one enemy twice. At Level 10, its damage increases by 20% per debuff on the target, up to an extra 150%. Max Level keeps the 20% but raises the cap to 200%, and you need ten debuffs on the target to reach it. Against a target with only three debuffs, the higher cap doesn't give you the full 200%. Hundrik can't place ten useful debuffs on his own, so how much Max Level is worth depends on your team. Be wary of enemies with Immunity, debuff cleansing or short debuff durations, as they can shrink the bonus before he attacks.
Back, Fiend! transfers random debuffs from Hundrik to his target. By Level 10 it can transfer three, and Max Level cuts the cooldown from 21 to 20 seconds. Transfer needs Accuracy, and Hundrik needs debuffs on him to move. It protects Hundrik only, not your team, and it won't get around Boss mechanics that can't be transferred.
Beneath My Heel is a two-hit Ultimate. At early levels it gives Ultimate Mana on each hit. From Level 6 the Mana gain depends on a critical hit, and the Skill adds random cooldown reductions for his active Skills. At Max Level it gives 200 Ultimate Mana and ten-second random cooldown reductions, with an 800 Mana cost. The reductions are random, so don't count on them landing on Stern Rebuke every time. Reliable critical hits matter here, but this isn't an unlimited Ultimate loop.
Shining Sweep places ACC Down on enemies in a frontal semicircle. Max Level reaches 35% for six seconds on a ten-second base cooldown. It can make enemy debuffs land less often when your team has some RES, but it doesn't make your team immune to debuffs. Hundrik needs Accuracy to place it, and enemies outside the area aren't affected.
If you want Hundrik to hit one prepared target as hard as possible, prioritize Stern Rebuke, as Max Level raises its damage cap from 150% to 200%, but only if your team can keep ten debuffs on the target. If you want him to keep his Skills coming, consider upgrading Beneath My Heel first, as Level 6 adds the cooldown reductions and Max Level lifts the Mana gain to 200.
Build And Team Support
Hundrik places debuffs, so put Accuracy on his Chestplate and Flask and stack as much as the build allows. Back, Fiend! and Shining Sweep both need it to land. After that, build Crit Rate to 75-80%, as Beneath My Heel's Mana gain depends on critical hits, then as much Crit DMG as you can. Keep enough HP to stay in melee range.
To land his debuffs more consistently, equip Accuracy Relics. To make his critical hits more reliable, equip Crit Rate Relics. For more damage once those are covered, consider Predator Relics, which add ATK and, at five pieces, Crit DMG.
Bring Invokers who place debuffs, as they power Stern Rebuke, and a healer and a Tank to give him the protection his own kit lacks.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Hundrik can follow a debuff setup with focused pressure on one threat. He doesn't place a hard Control Debuff and can't rescue allies. Be wary of enemy Invokers who cleanse debuffs or control Hundrik before he acts, as they take away the damage he builds from debuffs. Pair him with protection and with effects that stay on the target you want.
Against Yskara, who favours Melee Attackers, Hundrik's melee damage and native Frost Tolerance give you a reason to try him.
Against Galvos, a team that already places plenty of debuffs feeds Stern Rebuke's damage bonus. Against Sakiel, Hundrik adds no Burn or Bleed himself, which avoids those penalties.
Against Sorgott, Stern Rebuke's focused damage is Hundrik's main contribution.
In the Wind Spire, he offers single-target damage with some area debuffing. His Ultimate is focused rather than AoE, so the rest of your team should handle groups and recovery. He's worth deeper investment when a tough priority target is the obstacle and your team can make use of the debuff scaling. If your team is missing a healer or broad control, that may be a more urgent upgrade than Hundrik.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Hundrik's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
