Alasinthe guide: skills, build and team roles
Overview
Alasinthe is an Epic Fire Ranged Attacker from the Magi Faction in Invokers: Titan Legacy. Her Ultimate, Candle's Flame, hits three times, and every critical hit places its own Burn, so one cast can leave up to three Burns ticking on a target. Her other Skills help her land those crits: Scorching Orb places Crit Rate Up on her, Skink Burst places Crit DMG Up when it crits, and Candle Cuddle extends her buffs when it crits.
Her direct hits scale from ATK. Burn scales from the target's MAX HP, but each tick is capped by her ATK, so ATK still decides how hard Burn hits a high-HP target. Fully Awakened and before Gear, Alasinthe has 1,085 ATK, 665 DEF and 6,173 HP. All three are about average for a Ranged Attacker.
Burn needs a critical hit to be placed and Accuracy to land, so she asks more of her Gear than a damage dealer whose debuffs place on every hit. She doesn't heal or shield, so she needs a Tank and a healer beside her.
Skills To Prioritize
Scorching Orb places Crit Rate Up on Alasinthe after its hit. At Level 10 it's 22% for 11 seconds; Max Level raises it to 25% for 12 seconds and lowers the base cooldown from 22 to 20 seconds. Level 6 gives 18% for 10 seconds, against 15% for 8 seconds at Level 1.
Skink Burst places Crit DMG Up on her only when its hit is a critical hit. It reaches 68% for 13 seconds at Level 10 and 75% for 13 seconds at Max Level, and the base cooldown falls from 25 to 23 seconds.
Candle Cuddle extends 1 random buff on her by 2.5 seconds on a critical hit at Level 10, and its base cooldown is 10 seconds. At Max Level it extends up to two buffs, so it keeps her Crit Rate Up and Crit DMG Up running longer.
Candle's Flame hits three times, and each critical hit places Burn. Level 7 raises the Burn from 6 to 7 seconds and the ATK cap on each tick from 250% to 300%, and Level 9 raises the cap to 350%. Level 10 raises the Burn to 1.75% of MAX HP per tick, with the splash on enemies within 3m of the target at 0.88%. Max Level raises the cap to 400% ATK and the duration to 8 seconds. Burn ticks every two seconds, and Skill SPD speeds that up. The Ultimate costs 1,100 Mana at Level 1, falling to 1,050 at Level 8 and 1,000 at Max Level.
If you want Alasinthe to put out more Burn damage, upgrade Candle's Flame first, as Levels 7, 9 and 10 and Max Level each strengthen the Burn. If you want her crits to land more steadily, upgrade Scorching Orb first, as it raises her Crit Rate Up and shortens its cooldown.
Build And Team Support
Alasinthe's Burn needs Accuracy to land and ATK to raise its cap, so put Accuracy on her Chestplate and Flask and stack as much as the build allows, then build ATK. After that, build Crit Rate, since Candle's Flame only places Burn on critical hits and Skink Burst only places its buff on one. Crit DMG helps her direct hits but isn't essential. Put Mana Gen on her Talisman, because the Ultimate is how she places Burn. Add enough HP and DEF to keep her alive while it casts. She has native Bloodrot and Paralysis Tolerances, which match Earth Omnissi's two Corruptions.
For Relic Sets, Accuracy Relics help Burn land more consistently, Attack Relics raise both her direct hits and the ATK cap on Burn, and Crit Rate Relics give her the crits Burn depends on. Mana Relics add Mana Gen, so the Ultimate comes round sooner.
She doesn't heal or shield, so bring a Tank and a healer to keep her alive.
Arena, Bosses And Spires
In Arena, Candle's Flame is a damage-over-time Ultimate, so give her time to cast it and let the Burn tick. Be wary of enemy Invokers who have access to the Immunity buff or debuff cleansing Skills, as they can block or remove her Burn.
Fire Omnissi is immune to Burn, so Candle's Flame only deals its three direct hits against her. Sakiel takes 50% less damage from Burn, and each tick shortens the cooldown of one of his Skills by 1-3 seconds, so Burn is a poor way to hurt him. Her native Bloodrot Tolerance matches Sakiel's Bloodrot Corruption. Her Bloodrot and Paralysis Tolerances match both of Earth Omnissi's Corruptions, and Bleed is the debuff Earth Omnissi is immune to, not Burn.
Against Hyxxis, each Burn Candle's Flame places shortens the cooldown of her Ensacment Skill by one second through her Sludger passive, so up to three Burns from one cast bring the next Ensacment forward. Bring two Tanks to rotate through it, so a non-Tank Invoker isn't caught.
In the Fire Spire, her fifth Combo Attack hits up to nine enemies around its target, and Candle's Flame's Burn hurts the enemies within 3m of its target. Bring a healer and a Tank so she can keep casting.
Awaken
Awakening boosts an Invoker's stats significantly. Bonuses from Relics, Accessories, the Trophy Room, Tactics and Titan leader bonuses apply to base stats and Awakening stats alike, so unlocking the Awakening nodes is critical to maximise Alasinthe's potential.
Unlocking each Titan node at Star 2, 4 and 6 adds a second to Titan Invokation, taking the total from 12 seconds to 15.
